Thinking about getting out of the Hobby...

Hello!

I am new to the forum and actually stumbled on it after looking for a place to sell my setup.

I have a 32-gallon BioCube. I have been in the hobby since the start of 2018. I love the world of reefing but unfortunately, as my children get older I struggle to find time for the hobby.

I am happy to join the community, I am sure you will see more of my setups in the classifieds.

Welcome to R2R! Lots of people, including me, leave the hobby. Many of us return later. I would suggest that even if you leave, if you have any pieces of gear you really like, hold onto them at least for a while. I've quit and come back at least four times over the years. Restarting from scratch is expensive.

Welcome! Maybe get your kids involved in the hobby and you may find yourself with a renewed passion. I got into it cause my grandfather helped me start a tank when i was young. If not you can always start again later.

Welcome to R2R I agree with Tharbin. If you can afford to keep and store the tank for a while you might decide to restart later.

You know what they say…if you love something let it go, if it comes back to you it’s yours forever! There is a reefing analogy in there somewhere. Just don’t sell your expensive stuff that stores well. The way this hobby is going stuff is going to cost triple what it is now in 5 years. Rinse and air dry everything so it’s ready to go when you are. I quit for 6 years and regret it. I had corals I would love to have again and either can’t afford a replacement ( x mas tree rock) or stuff I’ll not see again.
