I picked up this shallow reef tank this week from a buddy of mine. This is definitely going to be a fun build. I'm going to be redoing the stand and polishing out the acrylic. Hoping to pick up a new skimmer and clean out the 75 gallon sump. Going to take a lot of elbow grease but should turn out fantastic. Guess you'll have to see the progression coming soon.

Looks like the system is going to be cool and different

Haven't got a lot done yet, but started to clean up the tank and the sump. Then started to tear off the trim. Going to use the base and build off of it. Gonna start sanding it all down in the coming week. Gotta still buff out all the scratches in the acrylic display, so I have a ton to do yet. Going blue and grey or blue and white on the plumbing, have yet to decide but we'll see.

Well today I resurfaced the 3 sides of the tank and I got my lights in, so had to try em out and see how bad the scratches on the tank really were. It's not perfect. But a heck of a lot better than it was!

I'm thinking I may go another round before it's said and done. I'll take a dry eraser marker with the lights on and marks the worst spots to sand.

I'm prolly gonna get the synergy overflow for this project and try it out.

Haven't got a whole lot done lately but I have started on the barn doors. And I got the living room braced up, wow that was a job. I'm gonna be sore tomorrow!!!

I've done it once or twice [emoji6], thanks. Hoping to get more done in the coming week. Work has been [emoji12] crazy.

Love the wood work, going to look like a completely different tank when you are done.

Well the upright divider braces, and the doors are stained front and back. And I also got a little time to cut, drill, and assemble the barn door hardware. Still have to get the rails for the top done. But it's coming along a piece at a time. Patience is a virtue, you must take your time and not rush things like this. That is why our hobby is so unique. Looks like a great build. I like the barn door idea for the front. It will give a ton access to under the stand.

What are the dimensions of the tank?
