Bought this skimmer last Nov. And from the start it never worked. Always overflowed the cup. Sent it back and after 2 months they confirmed it was defective. So they returned it with a new pump. That pump did what you see in video. So they sent another, and it had a broke shaft . So they sent another and still it geysers. This skimmer is nearly a year old and not once been used in tank. Any suggestions

I have 2 of these and they work great. looking at your video i see 2 issues. first looks like your demonstrating using fresh water and second looks like the water flow restrictor in the venturi intake has been removed or missing which is why your getting that water spout

These skimmers suck, need to be readjusted all the time, i finally tossed mine after multiple pump replacements, cleanings, etc. Cut your loses and get a new one. The best part of using a pls-100 skimmer was when i replaced it lol

so to answer your question asked on the video. no its NOT normal if the 2 piece flow restriction is in place

ouch, good luck. I've got no experience with them but IME its easier on your brain if you just cut your losses and move on. Nothing more frustrating than trying to get a point of sale to not be a point of sale when it's destined to be a point of sale, lol

Thanks, yes I used fresh to demonstrate. But it does the same with salt also. Also did it with other pump. And with other airline I tried.

I don't use this skimmer on my tank. I have eshopps and love it. I recommend this to someone who bought it. Well, for a tank I take care of. And it never worked out. So I put my skimmer on that tank and kept this one.

what two piece flow restriction? are you talking about the debris blocker not being on imput? He has it bult correctly and yes fresh water will have a different reaction but still this point of sale skimmer constantly either overflows or doesnt skim at all. Toss it, ive tried for 8 months, had 2 pump replacements, tried using a different brand pump, completly cleaned and rebreak in, fresh air, literally everything to try and find solutions and the best one was to throw it away.

pull off the air intake piece attached to the pump and make sure you have "2" white flow restrictiors in there. 1 fits inside the other. here is a picture of the 2 pieces.

The pls 100 on left doesn't show that piece either
From that picture you wouldn't be able to see it. it sits back and wouldn't be visible unless the picture was like the one you supplied for your skimmer which is right down the barrel. I could try and send a picture of it installed if you want
