Throw that pile of crap away and buy a Bubble Magus Curve 5. Set it and forget it. Empty the cup every 2 or 3 days and you are golden.

I have a gen 3 as well and it has that white sleeve. Makes good foam and gross skimmate. Yes, it's a pita to adjust, but I'm not often adjusting it.
I found that water level is critical to it functioning well.

I also have a brand new unused one in the box I just looked at and it too has the insert.

From the sound of it, the sleeve might be missing on a lot of people's Cadlight PLS skimmers.

Im guessing outsourced and when the manufacturer ran out of the part he figured nobody would notice until it was too late

well all i can say is that is disappointing sorry yours isn't functioning like it should. don't want to drag your agony out any further but can you tell me. is the new piece they sent you with the insert is the insert 2 pieces inside or just 1. If you push it out with a pen or screwdriver there should it should be a 2 piece white insert . I cant tell from your video ..... that said sorry it didnt work out

That is disappointing. I have seen that happen on mine once, when it was wfo and the airline was filled with water. All I did was shut it down and blow the line out. I can see that yours was at minimum setting in the vid so that's ruled out.
Hope they exchange the whole thing and get you fixed.

yea seems like i know the product better than they do its 2 pieces that fit inside the black intake ... cant believe they sent you a replacement with only half of the insides.

YUP that's only half of the insert if you look at the original pictures i posted you will see there is a white insert inside the other white insert. its a 2 piece restrictor. Its the same in both of the skimmers I have

Then it comes back to how ****** their skimmers and customer service are, that he has sent in multiple times and still missing pieces and not working properly. Mine is also missing those pieces but I instead bought another skimmer and took the pls-100 to the shooting range lol
