I hear that I am nervous too, I live right on the water literally so flooding has me worried

Best wishes for you and your tanks safely weathering the storm!

Dude hold it down Bill stay strong and focused budd hopefully this one won't be that destructive. Sucks too hear you had to stay behind but when 1 invests soo much time and money into this hobby its something that comes with the terrritory imo you made a good choice by staying

thanks Jai, Im doing what I can but there saying this is a historical storm and will break every north east record to date. Just got off the phone with the wife, their all having a ball going to the beach out to eat having fun ,im here setting up generators ,extra gas, food, water, flash lights....Building canopoes ect

the good news is you are taking is serious. Here in Florida its not uncommon for folks to not plan and then when it hits good its a mess. We took 2 pretty good ones back to back 2 weeks apart a few years ago and its not fun. Sounds like you are doing all the right things for preparation. Chances are flooding will be the biggest risk. Hang in there....it will work out....even though its scary.

I'm on Florida east coast and its about 200 miles SE of me right now. Surf is kicking up and we're getting some pretty good feeder bands and will continue as it passes parallel to the coast here over night. We not projecting anything more than 40mph winds and couple inches of rain here. Been watching this one for a week now and everyday including this morning the track has inched further east and north. 4 days ago it was projected to be a direct hit on us, now its a 150 miles off shore. Lets hope we get some more shifting to the east over the coming days to spare the north east.

Best of luck

thanks Onedesign1, Im glad its gonna miss you.Iv been watching non stop. Thanks for mentioning the flooding. I have to get my pumps set up too, very important. appreciate all the comments

I know I have spoke with acouple of jerseyians and have agreed that if anyof our tanks dieout we would try to hold as much livestock for one another or atleast those prized posessions that's another good thing about this hobby. There's always a fellow reefer lookin to help out

...ugh Irene... been there!! luckily we just got it as a storm!!... and still 50% of the island lost power for more than 16hrs :(... best of luck!! hope everything turns out ok!:burn_joss_stick:

Ok first, this is photoshopped lol read the comments...

Second Id like to say I'm praying for all of you in irene's path. I have been thru many a hurricane and no matter big or small they can be nerve wrecking. Take it easy, plan ahead, put tape on the windows, board up if she goes over a two, go to he depot and buy a basement pump to keep water from pooling and duct tape some clear thick plastic 1/3 way up any doors along the frame and floor, and add a few sand bags. Keeps flooding out mostly - and stay away from them windows. My cane must haves? Generator, griddle, bottled water and rum!! Good luck guys!

tomorow going to buy an additional pump and a couple more flash lights, candles . **** this is not good

today all the stores are packed, things are flying off the shelfs, no flach lights, batteries anywhere. Getting more preparded as you can see.
