Pair of Crosshatched triggers

Would also consider a shoal of butterflies as opposed to the individuals listed above

take a look at pyramid butterflies

incorrect. there are a multitude of fish that don't eat their tank mates regardless of size.
Ive seen tang eat a firefish. If a smaller fish were in tank first, it stands a better chance of not getting eaten, but YES it does happen. This I should mention pertains mainly to predatory fish (those that get quite large ) Triggers, lion, grouper, grunts and puffers

ok... I'm wrong again.

This is not a basis of right or wrong but there are many instances where fish that should not can co-exist and vice versa. 32 years in hobby and having a full line pet store for quite a few years- You see crazy things in this hobby.
In Marine aquaria, there are MANY things that should not happen,,,, but they do.

I think a pebble tooth eel would be cool a edition.

I will check those out. I was contemplating a zebra eel. My only concern about an eel is getting food down to it without it getting picked off. Tank is 44 inches tall

Oh I love zebras. It's not hard. You can fabricate a simple pvc stick inside another piece of pvc. When you get close to the eel push the other stick out with the food on it. Eels only eat a few times a week. That's what I used to do. No way i was sticking even a finger tip in with big puffers bum rushing food.

Thanks for the idea!! When you had eels did you every fashion a PVC maze under the substrate or within the rock work? Or did you just ensure that enough wiggle room was naturally in the rocks?

I use eggcrate all along the bottom. Then I anchor caverns together with drilled driveway markers and epoxy. I make the base really sturdy. I tried pvc with rumble glued on top, but it didn't get used very much and the sand to cover it was too deep for my liking.

Zebra is nice but you could do a skeletor or chainlink. 30" is still a pretty big eel imo. They're not quite as much of a bulldozer

Wish I had some valuable input. All I have is a 650 g tank is awesome! I can't wait to see it in action!
