Years he does not have. Maybe months before he out grow a 65 gal tankNot at all.
he’s got a couple more years before upgrade.
I mean, I've really seen opinions ranging from 65 is fine for any tang all the way to there isn't a single tang that would be happy in anything less than 100, so I really don't mean to come off as judgemental, I was just curious your thoughts since I get the sense a lot of opinions especially at the extremes are had by people who don't actually raise tangs. not all, but I've seen a lot of people online who seem to have opinions about things with little to know first hand experience with said things. you obviously have some experience with tangs, so I was just curious your opinionNot at all.

bought him a 1”, three years later he’s just 4”.Years he does not have. Maybe months before he out grow a 65 gal tank
interesting. thank you for the input! I personally am not buying anything too big to not perminately live in my current tank until I already have a bigger tank, just because I don't want to force myself into a corner and not have a place to put the little guy when its time. the best laid plans of mice and men, you know? but thank you for the input. I am super happy with my tang. side note, is it normal for them to sleep leaned up against a rock? dude gave me a heart attack, I thought he died inside 24 hours. now he's happy as a clam.bought him a 1”, three years later he’s just 4”.
Heard this wonderful story for more than 30 years.
If he grows an inch per month, then yes, otherwise this is just scare tactics.
The rate of growth of my BT is 1” per year so far.
He has a 180 ready for him.
I may need to redo my scape. I don't want to mess with it, but there are not a whole lot of places for a guy his size to hide :/. he hasn't seemed much like he's wanted to, but still. IDK, what do you think, worth redoing? pictures of my scape in my build thread if you wanted to take a lookMine disappears into the rocks
I want to be clear, I really do care about the fish, its not all about the money... that said, he was expensive to the point where I can say that is an actual considerationI think he will be fine. I would not move the rocks now.
I fell in love the minute I saw them, and was worried the pictures made them look nicer than they were. picking up this guy... he did not disappoint. my wife didn't like the pictures but after seeing him in the tank changed her mind. he is such a cool fishGood luck! Yes I agree the Tomini will be fine. They have a subtle beauty to them that sort of grows on you.
They are supposed to live about 5 years give or take, at least according to the internet. its not the 15 years of the hepatus, but still fairly long lived for a fish I thinkAre Tominis as long lived as the larger Tangs?
