Same with me; place them low either on a rock or abutting a rock so frags grow into a more natural shape. Without offense, that dome shape is not appealing to me.

What levels do well for you
Salinity: 1.026
Calcium:420
Alk: 10
Mag:1350
Nitrate: I have to dose potassium nitrate to stay above zero but they like nitrates so I don't chase any certain number I just keep it to where I can actually get a reading on salifert kit.
Phosphate:it varies for me testing is really kind of a waste of time basically with nitrate and phosphate feeding and the fish take care of the rest lol.

I have a big skimmer and algae scrubber so I feed pretty good not a huge load in my 90 but it's working.

I don't think it totally matters where you put them. Mine are more towards the middle/top of the tank and are doing GREAT!!! ACANS are a must have for any reefer. They defiantly like to eat. Spot feed at least twice a week

I collect them! I have so many!I found out one important thing about it! You can get addict to it!
Feed them twice a week , and they will grow fast. Not too much light! Sand bed or low part of the rocks. Check my thread you will see some of my addiction.

Just make sure your water isn't too clean. They like some phosphates and nitrates.

I run .02 phosphate and no nitrates and my piggies grow and grow. I feed Red Sea Reef Energy to mine and spot feed once or twice a week.

Acans are great and the do grow. Target feeding is good for them. They seem to like moderate light and flow. I keep mine near the bottom of the tank on their own rock. They seem very happy.

They encrust on a rock and will grow into a ball if you put them on the sand. Either way they look awesome!

Up2NoGood, those a beautiful! I live about 5 minutes from Cherry, but have not purchased acans from them. Just starting up an acan tank, so I'll have to go there soon.

Can I ask --- what do you use for lighting? I have a Kessil A360w on that tank, turned down pretty low.

Give acans a bit of room since they can release mestenerial filaments if any corals are nearby. They essentially release their stomachs to digest encroaching corals. Judging by all the pics im sure you can keep acans of the same species together
