hey guys, so my toadstool has hidden his polyps for a few days now doesn’t really extract I’ve recently got some other corals into the tank but nothing really around him he’s pretty close to my light been growing like that for 5 months no issues till now he’s got these white spots here and there i. Checked the water seems to be stable

Tank 10 gallon
Ph 8.0 been trying to raise keep having low ph
Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 10-20ppm
Calcium 460ish
Alk 12
Salinity .25ish
Temp 77

Leathers just do that sometimes.... Sometimes they never close and sometimes they can close up for a few days or even few weeks...... Give it some nice flow and it will be fine...

Yah Ima get him into flow path alittle more my first coral and don’t want to lose him having trouble getting my ph to stay up any tips

You won’t loose him. Leathers are usually very hardy corals.....

Do you have a photo?

My Leather does the same thing it's a big Sissy ! This was my 1st coral also. Had this wimp for many years.
Ahh that’s good to hear hoping he gets slot bigger really like them big my tanks only 10gallons gonna upgrade sooner or later without he wife knowing

Toadstool leathers often shed their outer skin layer. Completely normal :-) Just make sure it gets good flow

So i have the 250gph wave maker in my 10 gallon tank is that enough? Should i point it at it?

I'd think it needs a bigger tank for sure. Could ya get a 20 long & say the dimensions are just different ?

As long as the corals polyps were in motion before it hid its polyps then your fine. I would also periodically blow it with a turkey baster every now and then to help the proccess.

Not really an expert but I'll throw my experience in as well. I've had a weeping willow toadstool for almost a year now and other than the first day the most it's polyps extended have been a few millimeters no matter what I do. So your's should be fine retracted for a few days/weeks (hopefully it won't be that long). Hopefully it will shed and be fine for you soon.

So Luke, How's the leather?
Currently still hiding no polyps I’ve blown him off with the wave maker still nothing my ph is around 8.0 raising it marine buffer but not really working

Just make sure he gets some flow during this, mine just retracted today and is acting like yours, like everyone else said it is normal and should be over within a few days, or even a week generally.
