Toadstool coral need heml

Well currently have him pretty close to the wave maker so he’s getting a decent amount of flow

Also guys i have a 10 gallon tank and have the 240gph wave maker on it is it too little flow? I tried a 550 that have on the tank and felt liek it was way too much

In my opinion as long as your sand isn't going everywhere, and your coral and fish are happy, it is fine. If you need to up the flow because of algae or coral or something, then go for it. I tried upping the flow a while back on my tank to a too large of a power head and sand starting flying everywhere.

I see that your asking about keeping up your ph. Im assuming you do not have a skimmer running, if not that could help your ph due to allowing quite a bit of gas exchange. Marine buffer is useful for a short installment but I don't think it is the best long term solution. Running a hob refugium may help also this would also help with nutrient reduction and possibly help keep a more healthy pod population in your tank if you have a pod eater.

Yah i was looking into getting a Refugium but currently lost my job can’t really afford one and a skimmer is pretty expensive as well also don’t have much room on the 10 gallon for all that equipment

I agree a skimmer would take up alot of room in that size tank. When I had my 10g set up for a HOB fuge I used https://tinyurl.com/ycdq9fqe. The light works well and the pump is a smaller size, it will take some up keep with removal of cheato as it grows.

Honestly i don’t even know how these Refugium work
In short, you grow macro algae, cheato is what I personally use. When you grow macro algae the algae uses up nutrients like nitrates and phosphates. As the algae grows you take some out to allow room for more to grow, this removes the nutrients stored in the algae. The reason this is good for PH is when its growing its performing photosynthesis which in turn helps raise PH. The macro algae also can be a good spot for the pods to grow because they are away from fish and other predators they can slowly trickle into the tank and allow for your fish to graze as they find them.

The wave maker should be plenty strong you may also notice an uptick in PH if you use the wave maker to ripple the surface of your water. This will promote better gas exchange.

So you would recommend using the 550? Maybe point it at the walls have it bounce around getting more flow? I was also thinking about replacing my filter i have the biowheel by Marineland it kind of sucks i think

The 250 should be fine, a biowheel filter is not really ideal for saltwater use, I would recommend running something like the hob fuge over the biowheel any day.

Depending on what exact model you may be able to remove the biowheel from the filter and turn the HOB portion of that into a DIY fuge.

I was looking into a filter called tidal 55 by searchem

Or Coralife makes a protein skimmer / filter combo

Feel like Refugium are hard to do on such a small tank

They are not that hard but its just one suggestion :)

Cannot really tell by the picture but is it getting too much light? They are not hardy but too much light can cause issues
Also, the alkalinity is too high IMO. Try to maintain stable parameters. Good luck.
