today couldnt possibly get any worse

Yesterday my husband got me a sizable piece of blue monti digita...I was trying to glue it to a smaller rock, and thought I had it stuck good. Noticed inside the tank, it was still not stuck. Took it back out to add more glue, and it FELL AND SHATTERED ON MY FLOOR!;Jawdrop

the only think I could think to do, was working quickly glue as many of the small pieces I could, to the rocks, and pray for the best. I cannot believe this happened. anyone have any thoughts as to the chances of the pieces living? I am horrified that this happened.

I think I need to go throw up now. ;Meh

it's as fragile as a birdsnest. it's so dainty. I sure hope so, to say the least, my husband is NOT happy! Like I am....:rolleyes:

Think of it as fragging without the work it should be okay and encrust where you glued the pieces. Im the most clumsy person in the world ive done the same thing with a lepto and its fine now.

Lol imagine if at the end of the day you actually just now have a bunch growing nicely into multiple shapes and directions and end up looking better. XD

When I first read that, I thought the tank had fallen and shattered on the floor. That would have been a worse day!

I'm not trying to make light of your situation and I'm sure you feel dreadful, but now it is done there is no point stressing over it. It's funny how often good things come out of bad situations and hopefully you now have lots of decent frags for your tank (and some smaller ones you can sell :) ). Watching them grow is 90% of the fun for me anyway.

so true. I just hope that they're forgiving. which if someone dropped me on the floor....
and yes! if my tank shattered I'd just burn the house down at this point. oh my what a mess that would be!
any one know, are these as easy as my purple stylo's??? before I really have a meltdown? I mean, I get the whole fragging point...but what if...
 
Lol ok I expected something much worse then this... like you had car problems and your dog threw up on the floor and the kids gave you a snotty cold and then you came home to your apex not working and you saw some spots on a fish and it was scratching and the Dino you thought was killed is starting to show up...

Your day sounds like a normal day for me cuz I am clumsy lol

It is a hardy fast growing coral and should recover and grow back together :)

well...let me put it this way. I got a bit cocky because my stylo is stupid crazy growing...and Hubs was trying to be super sweet and bought this for me, yesterday. so, it's ...uhg. I just feel horrible. but, glass half full, now I'll have a BUNCH of it! lol
 
I was removing an orange Monti Digi from the frag plug with bone cutters a few months ago and left more on the frag plug than I wanted... Ended up putting the frag plug in a quiet section of the tank - and now I have 2 orange Montis that are both doing well.

Make yourself a blue Monti forrest :)

that's the same stuff right?? only different colors? How long until you noticed growth?
 
It might be a blessing in disguise.
You'll soon be able to sell these frags and make major $ for them.
All you have to do is name them....
"Smashing Montipora Digitata"
 
Every time I stick my hand in my tank I make frags I dont want, lol.
A good thing is montis grow fast.
Many are approaching weed status in my tank.
It could have been alot worse.
