well...let me put it this way. I got a bit cocky because my stylo is stupid crazy growing...and Hubs was trying to be super sweet and bought this for me, yesterday. so, it's ...uhg. I just feel horrible. but, glass half full, now I'll have a BUNCH of it! lol

Are you more upset that the coral is broken or because you broke the coral that your husband bought you? I bet your husband is upset that you're upset and not that you broke it! The ever spiralling circle of both people being upset when neither are really that upset in the first place!!

That's what it's like between me and my parents anyway. Dropping an ice cream that they've bought me is almost the worst thing ever (and no, I'm not a kid!).

With a thread title like that I was expecting a broken tank or a system crash. A broken colony is sad, but think of all the new frags you can get in trade for the extra pieces you now have.

Same coral, different color... It has been in my tank about 6-7 months (I'm terrible with time) and the frag on the plug which wasn't 1/2" long is now about about 4" tall with an encrusted base about as wide as it is tall.

Thank your husband... He didn't get a larger Monti, he got you 3 or 4 or 5 color coordinated blue Monti corals. Now, that's special

Every time I stick my hand in my tank I make frags I dont want, lol.
A good thing is montis grow fast.
Many are approaching weed status in my tank.
It could have been alot worse.

I recieved a small...1x1 piece of monti cap. it's finally now encrusting and growing. with that said...what I was able to stuff into holes and glue...all have polyps out! yay!

Well... it's a bit of both. I love this tank, probably more than I should... and things have been going well, other than thinking my levels were bad..they're not...and then this happened. it was so pretty...and now it's just well...pieces

I did the same thing yesterday, dropped a rock with a colony on it (that had been growing really nicely and now I have 4 or 5 new volunteer frags. I am just glad the clam didn't get dislodged in my accident. I know the feeling when the coral hits the floor.

Don't sweat it. I have had friends take colonies of acros out and drop it on the floor to frag them lol. I have personally taken things and hit them with a hammer and may have dropped some stuff to frag.

15 plus years. I have never broken a coral. it literally looked at me...blinked...and hit the floor into about 20 pieces
