While not directly reef related, I thought it would be cool for everyone in the path of the solar eclipse today to post a photo of their view.

Some of us may be nowhere near the path today, so this could be your chance to see it from several different locations.

When looking/ taking photos of the eclipse, please be sure to use appropriate eye protection.

Everyone BE CAREFUL. I saw the 2017 Eclipse and dang near blinded myself when I looked up 2 minutes prior to totality (I caught the Diamond Ring phase and it took center of vision in both eyes). My sight came back JUST in time. Scared me bad (and astronomy was a hobby of mine from age 8 to 25. I should have kniwn better). But it was amazing. Like seeing the eye of God. And I'm not religious. It was third most amazing thing I've seen (behind two births). All of those in the path......Enjoy.

North Central Ohio here. Sky is nice and clear but to be honest I think I'll do some tank maintenance instead. I just don't get excited over stuff like this. It's not like it's the first eclipse to ever happen. That one would have been interesting. This feels like Y2K all over again.

Probably not.
I’m in Philly at 90% and decided it’s not worth the fight with all the idiots on the roads to get that extra 10%
1)fighting the traffic to get to totality.
2) fighting all the people driving (after staring into the sun) would be an unpleasant return drive.

We're in the totality path, and it's a sunny day, so this should be good.

I work in an engineering office. The last time we had an eclipse, we were all kicking ourselves that we didn't set up something to measure light intensity so we could measure the progress.

7 years later, SenEye to the rescue :)

I was hearing that was actually one of the main reasons they were calling emergency situations in some of the areas, just such high rates of travelers and soo many car accidents

Go out and look. You won't be disappointed. It's a bucket list event. Seriously, I missed the 1979 eclipse and started planning for 2017 immediately. I was not disappointed.

They are dismissing all the schools early because it happens at normal dismissal times. All kids are being give. Viewing glasses. I thought of driving up to totality but when I heard they were shutting down roads etc… not worth the hassle for 3%

I remember that one. They had us all make pin holes in cardboard boxes to view it.

Yup. I'm out of the main path, but meh. Some of my co-workers took off to Dallas to watch, I'll get paid to be outside to see it here @ work. It looks like it will be a partial like it was in 2017 here in So. Cal.

If I live to see Halley's Comet again, I'll go take a look, lol. I was 12 years old the last time, and will be beyond old for the next, if I'm still around.

I saw the total in 1999 north of Paris, once in a lifetime opportunity, do not miss it, it's really quite wonderful.

PLEASE, AS A PHOTOGRAPHER, DO NOT TAKE PHOTOS OF THE ECLIPSE WITHOUT SOLAR FILTERS, IT WILL BURN YOUR CAMERA AND YOUR SENSOR ON YOUR PHONE, CAMERA OR EVEN FILM CAMERA!
I need a new phone anyway. I still have the note 20. It's almost 4 years old.

I’m in Cleveland (100%) area and people (media) are losing their minds. Apparently they called in the National Guard as a precaution.
Exactly what I'm talking about. Idiot on the news last night was talking about how it's going to affect our body and mind. I think not.

No bucket list for me. I know I'm a party pooper but I've seen a partial and a total is just a few minutes of darkness. Sure the spring peepers in the valley will stop peeping but they do that every time an animal walks through the valley and it really doesn't excite me.

A lunar eclipse is kinda cool but you can actually watch those.
