What do you consider the top 10 rarest and most sought after named sps????

Boy 10 rarest that will be hard one cause everyone thinks there stuff is rare I have some stuff that I have never seen but dosnt mean its rare.I guess a major sps fanatic will need to step in as I am a fanatic of all corals so I cant keep track of all lol.

That is a tough question to answer. I would put the Tyree Purple Monster acro up there near the top. I have not seen many among the local reefers here in the Tampa Bay area. It grows very very slowly as well. I purchased a nice piece from Exotic Frags earlier this year. The pics aren't great but you get and idea of the growth.

+1 on the Grafted Simplex. Never even seen that coral in person. Took me a while to get the 20K Lokani, and I know a few people hunting it. The new Grinch Monti. THe Mystic Sunset Monti, had it and lost it and having a tough time finding another. Sunset Millepora.

I would say the hardest and most rare as eric_the_reefer stated is the "Grafted Simplex" it's just no available unless you now somebody who has it...the "Ice Fire Enchinata" which was once hard to obtain is very obtainable these days, more and more people have grown it out. So top ten is no particular order

1) Grafted Simplex
2) Ice Fire Enchinata
3) Jesus Enchinata
4) 20,000 Leagues Lokani
5) 500 Dollar Efflo
6) Royal Plum Acro
7) Incedible Hulk Acro
8) Atlantis Simplex
9) Karls Candlelight Acro
10) Palmers Blue Millie

Red Robin, IceFire, Mind Trick Monty, Red Green Christmas acro, $500 Efflo, PM, Pink Sandollar, Orenji Danae, Greg Caroll Ultimate blue stag, City Red Millie, Hawaiin Punch, Appleberry, Mystic Sunset, Setosa and season Greeting.

Lots of the corals mentioned aren't hard to obtain. Ones that aren't on multiple vendor sites

Rouge Milli
Grafted Simplex
Tubs Real deal Encinada
Alex Blue Matrix
Paletta pink tip
Hiller Blueberry special
Hiller Aquamarine Jewel
Orenji (theres been a few up FS lately)

...just a few off the top...

I saw the Jedi Mind Trick Monti in person at WWC and I wasn't that impressed. No comparison to the Tyree True Undata, IMO.

I have Setosa, Appleberry, Forest Fire, Orenji, Equituberculata, Mike Paletta Blue, Dr. Mac's True Reverse Senset (most like an opposite Tyree Sunset) and several other more common types of Montis.

Speaking of grafted corals. I have a colony of ORA green and red birdsnest that grows together. The pink birdsnest grows in the center and the pink completely encircles it. I glued two 1 mm growth tips next to each other about 8 months ago, and they grew together.

Pics below. Not good but you get the idea!

great input everyone. I just thought this would be an interesting thread. everyone has their own ideas as to what is rare or more hard to find than others.

Acroholic----- i love your two corals growing together! very cool ! :)

Ok, if you are looking for coral that not many places carry yet then Sunburst monti and Sunrise Equituberculata or Lemonade monti.
Yes, I do like the True Undata. Still waiting to see my Mind Trick going to looks like when it's a large colony. Hopefully it'll turn to a pretty duckling like my Undata. The price I paid sure does seem like it's going to be a nice one. :)

It is all just preference and opinion. No right or wrong. Sometimes corals don't look all that great when they are frags, but look great when hey grow into colonies. My Tyree Soli, $500 Efflo, and Icefire Echinata were like that. No big deal when a tiny frag, but let them grow a bit and WOW!

I might be coming to you in a few months begging you to sell me a frag of the Mind Trick!

I personally consider all of the atlantic stony's to be ultra rare only due to the collection bans. With only being able to get them as hitchhikers or similarly odd ways they are just inherently hard to come by.

Not sure what Victor and Lou are doing to their Jedi Mind Trick Acroholic, but the piece I got from them is jamming! Tyree's True Undata is a beautiful coral, I know, have a nice colony of it. But the Jedi is sweeeeeeeet... drooooooool... Love this coral, it is so green with deep red polyps, and my piece still doesn't have the funky leading edge. They probably have fragged their piece too much because everybody wants this coral for good reason. But back to the topic at hand.
