Top 5 most reliable equipment owned

Another vote for reef octopus skimmer

Also have Kessil led grow lights using for a fuge dated 8 years ago. (Got them used) Still turn on and off and work good even after being soaked when skimmer overflowed a few times and got them wet

I have been fortune with my current build and so far no problems. I am getting to the three year mark and everything is original.

I do agree when I used the Mag pumps they lasted.

Kessil lighting
Finnex Titanium heaters
Reef Octopus skimmers
Synergy reef sumps
ReefBrite light strips

OVER 10 YEARS:
Auto top off.com- dual switch ATO
lumenarc mini MH reflectors
MSX 200 skimmer- replaced Sicce pump 2 years ago and still running strong. I think MSX is now Octupus. Not sure.
MP 40 with the horizontal white box controller still running strong replaced impeller once, my bad disconnected while still running.

Eheim heater
Maxspect Razor led
Sicce return pump all in service since 2013

1. Ehiem heaters
2. Mag Drive pumps
3. RO skimmers
4. Spectrapure RO
5. RKL
6. JBJ ATO
7. Icecap 250w MH ballasts

1. Mag Drive pumps
2. Euro Reef skimmer
3. Eheim heaters
4 Tunze Osmolator
5. My perpetual thirst for knowledge

Most reliable
1. Ehiem pumps (I’ll joint this bandwagon)

2. Jebao CP-25 ( I’ve had collectively over a decade of use on these gyres without issue or power loss)

3. Avast ATO

Least reliable:
1. Apex Classic (looses network connectivity so much that the unconnected state has become the de facto)

2. Jebao Dosing Pumps

In order of most reliable:

1) Aquaclear 301 powerhead, continuously run for 15ish years, still runs when I need it to mix things or in a Q tank. Approximately 24 years old.
I also have an aquaclear 402 powerhead approximately 22 years old, still in use.
2) Aquaclear mini hang on back power filter (now it's called something else, but still same model). Continuously run for 10 years, tank taken down, and now back in use, continuously run for the last 5 years.
3) Eheim 1262 Pump, continuously run for 3 years, tank taken down, and now continuously run for the last 15 years. Probably cleaned less 5 times in the last 15 years.
4) Original Jager heaters, not the newer ones. I have ones over 15 years old that still work, but I've had several bought in the last 10 years that have failed (though still mostly reliable)
5) Original ATI 48" 6 bulb powermodule, heavy as a tank, probably 14-16 years old or so.

Hate to say it, but they don't make stuff like they used to!

Folks have to say how long - 3 years isn’t reliable, it’s the break in period LOL.

Cant come up with five but

1.) Blue Line Pump
2.) Reef Octopus Diablo Skimmer
3.) ATC refractometer
4.) BRS 4 stage value plus RODI unit

Also surprised to see JBJ ATO on here as it was on my 5 worst list

So far...
RO 300int skimmer
Mag drive pump
Maxspect gyre pumps
Simplicity DC return pump

Eheim pumps, Tunze protein skimmer, Tunze wave pumps, Tunze Osmolator, Eheim canister filters. I have some of these items pushing 15 years without a rebuild. You get what you pay for. Aquanetics system paks. TMC U.V. units.

Tunze, Eheim and Magdrive so far seem pretty reliable!

Funny though how a couple of the items people have listed have also been listed the opposing thread !

Tetra Luft air pump- 20 years old and still works!
Have many Tunze skimmers dating back 10 years-they all still work.
Like Eheim heaters but feel they were better when ebo-jaeger.
Hate Eheim auto feeders! Old Rondomatic allowed better control over feeding but now only available in Europe!
Can’t think of anything else!

No order:
AI Hydra 26HDs (have 5 over different tanks)
Neptune Systems Apex (Have a 2016, 2 Classics, and a Jr)
Zen Reef Frag Rack (far better than the Eshopps Lotus Mag)
Reef Octopus Skimmers
MaxSpec Gyres (Have 150s on the new "Advanced Controller")

Ehiem heater going 15 years or so
5 Kessil 160we's oldest 5 years
Eheim canister filter although not using it for last 3 years is 25 years old
Instant ocean hydrometer 30 years old and accurate but use a hydrometer now

Mag Drive pumps
The famous Eheim 1262
Eheim Jager heaters
Mag floats
The Bible.. :)
