Torch sealed itself completely

I have a torch that has completely sealed itself up. I am confused why this is happening, or if it is a problem as I've never witnessed this behavior prior. Everything else in my tank looks good. Parameters are all good and very consistent. Nothing has changed. I've attached an up close view of the torch as well as a wide angle of the rest of my happy corals.

Looks dead. Can you blow the stuff off the top? If you pull the coral out, does it smell really bad?

Does it react if you blow on it with a turkey baster/flow? My fear is that it is dead, and that is some type of tissue or byproduct of tissue death just laying in the coralite?

It's definitely not dead. I watched it over the course of 24 hours pull the tentacles in and then close up over them.

I managed to pop it off the rock to get a closer photo.

Are you sure that's a torch and not a toadstool??

Lol, positive. It's an orange peel torch, and normally looks very similar to this stock photo here

first time ive seen a torch think its a toadstool and morph into one.

Thats so wierd... u can't even see the tenticles anymore, its like its solidified into one large blob.

it looks like there's a flatworm or something on *TOP* of the torch, since there's no opening for the tentacles to have withdrawn through & I can see the tentacle outlines through the white tissue. I would dip it ASAP and see if the white thing dislodges, or at list pick at it (Over a bowl so it doesn't drop into the tank!) and see if it reacts.
