I have a 75g refugium. It works but you really need one the same size as your tank to really do much.

37ugl for tin! Oh my, get some metasorb from 2little fishies worked great for me. Your gunna have to figure out where all those metals are comming from

It could be, did you mention what brand?

Some of them even list copper and zinc etc on their ingredients. But i believe i read that some of these bind together and basically eliminate each other in the end. Or something to that effect.

I didn't mention the brand because some reefs are very successful using it.

The additives do in fact have copper, tin and zinc in them.

Just goes to show all tanks are different. what works for someone, might not work for you

Many Years spend in research why some peoples ha ve so High levels of Cooper and alluminium
We test water water plants ecc..
Only to discover that it depend from the pots they use to Cook food

I just went to the lfs that is holding my acros. for the most part they look good. most of the polyp extension has returned. I'll be doing a few waterchanges with new salt and switching out my additives tonight

Caulerpa prolifera for example is excellent and do not collapses
Other way if you want a mechanical action run a zeolite filter changing it frequently
But more then other consider that sand bed is a stocking tank for heavy metals

May i ask, what kind of additives? It certainly could be a build up of those elements due to supplements. Overall i think you should deffinitly run a polymer or a triton detox. Switch to a different supplement and do some more icp testing. Have to take small steps and narrow it down, check for any equipment or object that could contain any metals that is in contact with your tank

I started noticing problems after I switched to Aquaforest Component 123. I'm going to put my BRS 2 part back on the doser and do a couple large water changes this week

Not normally. I threw some carbon in a reactor once I got the test results as well as added a poly filter

I wonder if that's why they recommend the use of zeolites carbon and GFO for all three of those either pull out or bind heavy metals.. you can still stick with the balling method just mix your own and don't add the components strong... I think it's a more stable ionically balance system than two part ...

Still switching would be a good idea because dosing all thoes metals without the use of zeolites, carbon, weekly waterchanges and such could end with some building up. I do weekly 15% waterchanges and ran zeo lites. This is my theory on what happened. I had about 6l of heavily colonized matrix in my sump. if I remember correctly, bacteria uses Alk for the denitrification process. I was dosing 95ml daily of 123 to keep my main 3 parameters stable. I think a good percentage of that was going towards the bacteria which in turn allowed the metals to build up since my acros weren't requiring that much.
