Those 2 can actually co-exist quite nicely, if your tank has the room; go for both.

I loved the clown trigger I had, I cant say the feelings were mutual since my fingers became dinner time for him/her whenever I reached my hand in tank. One of the hardest biting fish I've dealt with besides an overly aggressive Sohal Tang I had in a 700gal FOWLR.

I've had multiple Bluejaw which have been some of my favorite fish and just got a Crosshatch pair.

The Bluejaw were model citizens and a lot of personality. The Cosshatch are still in QT so no experience with them yet except to say they are very pretty fish.

I have a huma huma (picasso) in my sps/lps/softie tank and he doesn't touch a thing. He likes to spit sand though so I have to clean sand off my chalices and monti caps every day, thats anoying but other than that he's awesome...

How long have you had the Clown trigger in your tank, was he small when you put him in? Been contemplating trying one out for months but I am really hesitant that he might start eating things and would have to return him.

Has anyone kept triggers with smaller peaceful fish like Flasher wrasses, firefish, jawfish, and very small gobies (like neon gobies?)

The red tail (Sargassum) would be my choice if I was going with one. I would caution putting a pink tail in a reef. I think I've seen reef tanks with them before, but from what I remember they were more on the edge of not being reef safe.

I made that mistake!!! Lost a rhombiod and diamond watch goby..... NO PINK TAILS!!!!!!!!!

Please before you decide on a trigger with a pointy face (like a clown, picasso, or the like) find out what size the fish is and what size tank they are being kept in. Keeping one of these fish in a 700g reef is a lot different than keeping them in 300g or less. Also when triggers like a clown get 5-6" their personality can change dramatically. I know a guy had a clown trigger in a 300 for over 3 years, then over the course of a year started murdering and snapping his acros like kindling. The picasso can go the same route over time, they like crunching things and biting through things. A small 3" clown trigger may be a model citizen until he gets to be about 5-6"; then good luck.

Both those triggers have round faces; as does a pinktail, sargassum, bluejaw, goldback. These round face triggers tend to give you a much higher percentage of success.

Very strange, nigers aren't known jumpers, but any fish can jump. But nigers will wedge themselves into a crevice in a rock and you will absolutely never find him. I've actually taken rocks out of the tank and found my niger in the bottom of bucket flopping around, not knowing he was in the rock. Hopefully he'll reappear.

Days later and no sight of him. And trust me I took out ever rock and inspected every little nook and cranny.

My blue jaw pair is about 5 inches now in a 150 gallon. They have been a good citizens for now. Great personality.

Hello I am wondering if I can put triggers in my acro/sps tanks. Triggers are my favorite fish but I would not be willing to part with my coral

The members here already have you on the right track. For those that keep Picassos, Huma Huma, Clowns, Fuscus (Blue Line), Undulated, Queens, etc... with any success-it is a rear exception.

If you appreciate the swimming motion/ personality of that type of trigger, you may consider a Matted Filefish/Trigger which also serves to eradicate certain aquarium pests. Relative to the others, this won't outgrow your tank and its inhabitants. As the name suggests, it's not known for its eye popping colors.
