The shipping on the Synergy is pretty steep. As far as I know, it's only available direct, right? At least with the Trigger, you can get that from BRS with free shipping.
@Steve P Shipping for large sumps like the 44 is not cheap. Our shipping cost is around $180 + packaging costs. The Trigger 44 is a smaller sump than our Synergy TS-44. Make sure to look at the specs as this is what makes ours more expensive to ship and why it costs more. Yes they are both 44" long but the width and height are totally different. When shipping an item large items are based on dimensional weight and not actual weights. This puts our 44 into an oversize category and we get hit with a $100 oversize fee from UPS or Fedex.
for how much they are charging if the market ever goes south i will start making sumps...
@Brian Bieger Your better off investing into bitcoin. We are not getting rich by any means lol..... Acrylic prices just jumped over 25% in the last month. Being a small family business and not a big corporation means we can't just absorb costs like that. We take pride in our products and customers.
Very surprised how small the skimmer sections are, imo should not be less than 10", alot of good skimmers on market, 1 less than 9" choice goes down fast, synergy is respectable in size but not sure vertex, bubble king, deltec... will fit
@drtrash We can move some of the baffles for no cost. Just depends on how much is needed. This is why we build all of our sumps to order. It allows for modifications and no hefty fees. Off the shelf sumps can't offer that.
I spoke with trigger and they can move a baffle and add 1-1.5" to skimmer area to 34 model with little to no charge. Wish i could see build quality side by side to justify added $300 for synergy
I am not sure where the $300 difference is? What are you comparing? Also we build our sumps to order so customer can modify the skimmer/refuge sections slightly as well, at NO cost. This is something we do all the time.
Just to clarify why our Sumps are slightly more expensive you have to look at the actual specs of the sumps.
You will notice in the specs that our sumps are not apples to apples. Trigger names theirs a 44 so people would be confused and think they are getting the same size sump as our 44, but they are very different. Here are the specs:

Refugium Section - 22" x 15.5"
(approx 20 gallons) If you do the math there is no way the refugium can be 20 gallons in this sump.

Return Section - 6" x 15.5"
Drains - Three 1" PVC Couplers
