I will try to make this short...this has been a battle and half and so much $$$ invested but I won't quit. so back story, after eradicating aiptasia my corals stopped opening some died. Tried everything, from 90% WC, switching salts, (zeovit - few corals start bleaching so I stopped) , trace elements nada. Found my alK at 20 dropped it down to 10.2 nada. Found metal in my tank, so remove magnets from tank and treated with Trition Detox Metal Remover ...nada... Added Rowaphos, hanna checker reading 200 ppb but Red Sea kit reads 0.02
This weekend switch to Tropic Marin salt and did a 25% WC, both tanks were cloudy, changed my carbon and it was cleared in day. Finally Monday I came home to my Zoas fully opened. Have to wait and see if the others recovered that are browning now...Favia are.ok. Did a triton test last Friday got the results today....here are the results.

What should I do

Thank is 220g with 30g sump and 28 nano

Thank you

Without seeing Tritons recommendations I would guess they suggested large water changes and Rowaphos as your solution??

You don't mention what salt you were using prior to the Tropic Marin but assuming Im right about Triton’s recommendations and the positive results you've seen jumping to Tropic Marin thats the direction I would probably go.

How old is the setup?

I was using Instant ocean. I think I had a bad batch, then went to Reef pro mix, then back to IO reef crystals, now Tropic Marin.
Tank is about 2 1/2 yrs old

Awww...thanks for mentioning triton recommendations...didn't see that part. I just looked at the results again and found it. Its a longgggg recommendation, but to sum it up...

Lack of Magnesium
Lack of Potassium
Lack of Boron
Lack of Sulfur
Lack of molybdenum
Lack of vanadium
Lack of manganese
Lack of Zinc
Lack of Nickel. With a dangerous warning.

I can only give you advice based on my experience, but I've done 4 Triton tests so far this year (tank started in February) and I've followed their recommendations 100%. It's not cheap, but here we are in June and everything is in green and we're having no issues with tank (corals or fish).

awesome..I hope to get it under control by December , cause I am moving and I wan't 400 gal for my fish. I think they out grew the 220. I just can't grow corals especially SPS, so I am sticking with softies and LPS

Lack of Magnesium - I agree, it is too low.
Lack of Potassium - I agree, it is too low. (Get a Salifert test kit while raising it up)
Lack of Boron - It is on the lower side, but wouldn't cause that problem
Lack of Sulfur
Lack of molybdenum
Lack of vanadium - Almost always 0.00
Lack of manganese - Almost always 0.00
Lack of Zinc - Almost always 0.00
Lack of Nickel. With a dangerous warning. - almost always 0.00

filtration is roller mat, Aquamaxx Q-3 Skimmer, water changes.
You may want to look at some more advanced methods. It’s hard to read the results but it looks like your nitrate and phosphate are through the roof. It’s probably time to look at things like refugiums, zeovit, Carbon dosing, nopox, etc. Find something that speaks to you and implement it.

Sulfur looks ok, Molybdenum is really low.
What is your salinity at?
With the amount of W/C's listed, I'm surprised at some of these results.

I would go slowly over the next few weeks - correct the Magnesium, Potassium.
Make sure all parameters are on point in the next few weeks : Alk, Calc, Mag, K, Nitrate, phosphate, salinity, temp.

What's your tank setup? WC schedule? Pictures of death? Filtration setup?

Given that so many parameters are off, I would start by asking Triton to confirm their analysis. They may not be automatically checking to see if they are sending you bad data. I would also confirm that the specific gravity of your water is where it should be.

You might share what you have done to battle aiptasia.

I started the zeovit and stop after the corals started bleaching. I run a carbon reactor and gfo. I did everything to lower my phosphate, from Rowaphos to 90% WC, new RO filter media and it not budging... I can never grow cheato, always dies...in my refugium section I have media blocks. I think I am going to give that sump a good cleaning and replace all media and try growing cheato again. I don't want to loose all those pods..

Thanks for the advice..greatly appreciated

my salinity is 1.026. For the aiptasia, I started with lemon juice, used franks aiptasia killer (got expensive) so I made a LIME juice and vinegar solution and that killed it. For the high ALK I use muriatic acid in my WC

220 gal DT , 30g sump, thieling roller mat, aquamaxx skimmer, max jump return pump,2 max gyre pump, 2 jaebo pumps, cobalt heater(never comes on, I'm in fl) .
Running 2) 32 HD with 4 T5 to cover the spread. I have a 52 HD but the whites don't work.

WC every weekend since no growth, normally every two weeks when things where good.

What should I use for potassium? I will add more Rowaphos.
I have BRS magnesium.

There's a number of things to use; I use Brightwell Powder potassium & make it into a solution.
Also look at Brightwell Phosphat-E. It destroys Phosphate.... I recommend it. (I can't use Rowaphos, or GFO - it causes STN/RTN in my acros...) If you get it, be careful with it. I tanked my p04 on accident by dosing 10 mL daily for a week - went from 0.5 to 0.00 in 300g.

Also, that's a tiny sump for a large system!

Do you run an aggressive carbon; or run a lot of it? Carbon strips out a LOT of trace elements / metals from the water that are beneficial.
Your Macro is likely dying from no available Iron /Manganese / zinc (trace). I had the same issue until I bumped up my dosing by A LOT; but it could be a number of things...

But - get your parameters in line & stable, get that p04 / n03 in line & stable, and then move to the next step.

This.
What was your nitrate level?

What was your nitrate level?
To be honest I don't know what the real numbers are ..my hanna checker ULR always reads 200ppb and my Red Sea kit reads normal.. Thats why I did the ICP test. I agree the sump is a bit small, but don't want to upgrade until I move. I definitely will be upping everything. I run carbon for about 2 weeks and then give it a two week break. I haven't run GFO until recently.
