I weigh my salt to the gram prior to adding and do a 9.5 gallon change per week. As with cooking, weighing dry ingredients gives a far better consistency. Once you have your number down, you never have to second guess. Just weigh, add the salt to the RODI and turn on the mixing pump and know your SG is going to be spot on every time.
