Give Nualgi a try! The are threads and FB pages about it. I have used it for 2+ months on my 300 gal mixed reef with lots of SPS, Z/Ps, chalices etc and have seen it work to eradicate my HA, sparkling clean water, and greater PE on Acros/Millis. Not an overnight cure, but dosing once every 4 days for 8-10 weeks has made all the difference for me.

To be completely honest, I didn't have the algae issue until I tried nualgi. I've done every test I can think of and my parameters are always perfect. Nualgi is the only other factor, which I'm convinced is what caused the problem from the beginning.

Turf algae grows on very low nutrients. This is why it appeared after you started a nutrient reduction method. I have it too. Both red and green. My emerald and hermits will pick at it like a kid eating broccoli lol. Nothing LIKES it to be honest. Urchins work the best because they are like lawn mowers and eat all algae in their path. A rock boring urchin is not very distructive. I have had 3 in a 120 for two months and they have knocked one thing down so far. They won't really burrow if not disturbed either so don't worry about swiss cheese rock.

I picked my little guy up yesterday :-)
with another emerald crab
He already found a little toadstool that I didnt Know I had ~

~Above ~ I just got the toad stool and it was just kind of laying around.... the Bace started to melt away and the top part spit up in to peices.... I just tucked the peices into rock crevasse and they took off Like mad! Now there are 5 ~ 6 counting the little on on the Urchin :cheer2:
