I have a 2 1/4" rabbitfish that I am looking to re-home. He was purchased with velvet as a rehabilitation/research project. He has been through 30days of copper treatment, has been treated with Prazipro and is currently being treated with metroplex. He will then be observed for 2-3 weeks before being sent to his new home. He is eating mysis, brine, Ocean Nutrition flakes, and red nori (he doesn't care for green). I am in eastern GA, near Savannah, but am open to shipping. I'm not asking for any money, only for shipping costs to be covered if he is to be shipped.

That's awesome of you to save this little guy! I'd take him if I didn't already have a one spot.

I would love to adopt him. I live in Atlanta and would be fine with paying for shipping or possibly coming to get him. Just let me know if he is still available or when.. thanks

Although I appreciate the interest I am looking for someone who can house him the entirety of his lifetime and at his max potential size. Unfortunately I don't think he would be a good fit for your tank.
Your tank looks fairly young, I wish you luck! Oh and welcome to R2R :)!

I am interested in adopting this little guy! He is georgous and I would love to take care of him, hed be a wonderful edition to my aquarium. Please let me know what I need to do. I know he gets fairly large so he would love his new home in my tank. I can send pictures if I need to.

You can PM me general info of your tank and pics.

I did the research and did not realise they got that big thanks and hope you find it a good home ☺

That's a beautiful tank! How many gallons is it? It looks like you've got some softies and lps in there, are you willing to take the risk with them being that rabbitfish can potentially be coral nippers?

I had a coral beauty and she nipped at the coral as well but coral can be replaced. My tank is a 200 gallons. I seem to love all the beautiful fish that im not suppose to have with coral but I get attached they are paet of my family! I love them and I have grandkids that love them!!!

I sent you a PM.

Saltie, do you think it would be compatible with a 3" one spot? If so I would take him for my 300g

Sorry for the late reply, haven't been on here all day for once! I'm not certain on the compatibility between a rabbitfish and foxface, but I will do some reading and see what I come up with. I would think it would be similar to mixing tangs of a different genus, or of the same genus.
Do we have any resident Siganus experts? I know he is more into tangs but maybe @4FordFamily wouldn't mind chiming in?

I have no experience mixing foxface or other rabbitfish but I know it can be done on occasion. It either goes fine, goes fine for awhile and then ends badly, or they fight from the jump.

However, although foxface are a type of rabbitfish, they're often different enough in appearance that you are fine. I would say nothing is guaranteed, but you have a 75% chance of success, very arbitrarily derived however.

@eatbreakfast @evolved, either of you other fish nerds dissent?

I have a 40 gal breeder I am just outside of Chattanooga in Ringgold, GA. I would like to adopt him if you are ok with that

Thank you for your input @4FordFamily! Hopefully we will get some more opinions and/or experiences. Do you think that the odds would be better since his tank is fairly large and both the fish are small right now? (Rabbit is smaller, he's just over 2")

Hi there! Although I know he would do well in a 40 for a while, I'm really trying to find someone who can house him for the entirety of his lifetime and at his max potential size.
