So I did a 5G water change today and as usual I dosed the new water with 5.2ml of Copper Power. I expected to see a slight increase in Cu when I measured the tank after, but instead it shows a drop. Either I haven't been getting an accurate measure of Copper Power or something is absorbing the Cu. Probably the former.

The good news is they both look great and are active, no longer shy at all.

Do you have an airstone that causes any splash out? Did you remove the exact same amount of water you put back?

I would test one more time. If you get a reading close to the 1.58ppm I would dose it back up into the >1.70ppm range and call it absorption.

In addition to mysis, most anthias love roe and they're energy packed, being mostly lipid. I bet yours would gobble them up. Although for a QT I'd rinse them first.

And they're in! Hanging out in a social acclimation box for now. Nobody seems too upset about them.



The transfer went smooth. I fed them a bit heavily about 30 minutes before starting. Then I took a small container of DT water to the QT tank, pulled all the decorations and carefully netted each one into the container. Then back at the DT I hand transferred them into the social acclimation box. Fingers crossed!
