Hi all,

‘’After 20 years away from the hobby, we are happy to have a new Reefer250. Two weeks and I found R2R looking for a solution to the famous gurgling overflow problem. Read the threads and tried a few things to fix it. After many hours and taking the valve apart several times, I decided the answer had to be install a gate valve. Bought the parts and adapters from metric to standard. Installed the gate valve and still no joy. Completely closed the gate valve and still no joy. Gurgling continued. What now? I stuck my hand in the sump and the water was flowing down the emergency overflow. I installed the overflow and emergency overflow reversed. Lesson one is RTFM. Looking forward to more lessons and learning from you all.

Welcome! Glad you joined. Congratulate yourself for getting to other side of that! Everything has a learning curve, so just take it at your own pace. I give grace to others, because i need it so often myself for myself (sounds like something I would have done, too)

Have you considered starting your build thread? I found its a great place to document my tank's evolution for myself. I started tank first then joined, so I'm still finding myself going back collecting pictures & updating historically as well as current state. Once you create your first post in your thread and link it to your account, they will give you build badge (look left, under my ID)

This might help you find people local to you:

This is a good reference book type online article I still review:
