Thanks! I'm loving the new fungia and trachys 
I finally got this bad boy set up today! It's ready for rock and to start the initial cycle
I still have to plumb the frag tank and external refugium, but I'm able to do that with even when the tank is fully stocked. Hooray for planning ahead!

As some of you may know, I've never been one for any gadgets that aren't 100% necessary. I've always done it the hard way. But I recently decided to get an ATO and so far I'm impressed! It's only been on for a day, but it's keeping my water level consistent

I left the house for a week and completely forgot my light isn't on a timer yet. It was on for a week straight and I came home to this

I bought some new corals today. A bright green goni, a frogspawn and a crazy favia! I've also added some coral to the 20gal. I'll post some pics when they settle in and open up nicely.

It looks like a bit of a mess at the moment. I have some algae to fight, plus nothing looks just right where it is. They'll all be moved onto the 20gal soon enough though

That's an acanthophyllia. It has a few common names, but is usually called a cushion coral.
It's quickly becoming a favourite of mine. It puffs up really big (3-4x the skeleton size or bigger) when it's happy and eats like a pig!

So my tank is about 9 or 10 months old now. I'm finally seeing signs of it maturing and stabilising!! 
I hadn't seen copepods in the tank until today. I see bristle worms much larger than I have before, the last bristles I saw were barely half an inch long, I'm now seeing some well over an inch and others over two inches. My algae blooms have settled down, I still have some bryopsis, but the typical algae blooms associated with newer tanks have all come and gone. My corals are colourful and growing. I'm always finding new patches of coralline growth.

So here's a fresh FTS!! Please excuse the bristle worm trap, I'm trying to catch a few to help seed my other tank with some extra life.
I hadn't seen copepods in the tank until today. I see bristle worms much larger than I have before, the last bristles I saw were barely half an inch long, I'm now seeing some well over an inch and others over two inches. My algae blooms have settled down, I still have some bryopsis, but the typical algae blooms associated with newer tanks have all come and gone. My corals are colourful and growing. I finally found something my Goni will eat!!
After trying the juices from mysis, three different homemade foods and hikaris carnivore mix, I thought it was a lost cause. However I remembered I had some rotifers in the freezer and finally got it to accept them.
At least I think it's eating...

I've got some big updates!
The 1ft cube has had some major nutrients issues I can't get on top of. Even 50% water changes aren't helping. I assume it's phosphate leaching from the rock :/
I'm in the process of transferring all the coral to my 20gal now.
I was away from the cube for over a week and that took its toll on the tank. That coupled with the nutrients and the tank had practically crashed.
With all that said, my 20gal is coming along nicely!
I've now added a mesh top lid. I upgraded my powerheads from cheap Chinese knock offs to a single jeboe sw4 which I'm loving so far! I'll probably get a second one soon.
I've purchased an RODI filter finally.
Plus I've upgraded most of my test kits from API to Red Sea.
Once I track down a suitable sized bulkhead, I'll be able to get my external fuge on line too!!
It's not much to look at now, but once I get all my coral transferred over and settled it, it should look great!

I noticed today I have the dreaded bubble algae.
It's hard to see in these pics but there's about 10-15 tiny little bubbles.
I took the frag out, scrubbed the algae away till I couldn't find anymore bubbles, rinsed it in tank water until all the debris cleared away and put it back in. Hopefully I rinsed all the spores away and I didn't just unleash a plague of bubbles into my tank :/
