Just curious, did you choose to not quarantine your new fish? If you didn't does it worry you that one may be diseased like the Coral Beauty and spread to others?

No I didn't quarantine mainly because I don't have the space for a qt.. you always take the chance but those being the first two fish I was not all that concerned the angel did have ich at some point but good food and garlic fixed that right up that right up..

Nice. Ya I feel you on that, I live in a 670 sq. ft apartment so a quarantine tank on top of everything else seems like a major roadblock as I plan my first tank.

So not to much has changed in my system over the last couple weeks.. it has kinda been on auto-pilot though most sps is starting to grow

I did get the chance to get my doser up and running and so far I'm really liking ati essentials.. I am currently 20 ml per day of alkalinity 15 of calcium and 15ml of mag.. ati calls to dose all in equal parts but trying to slowly raise my alkalinity so so once I get it up to the level I'm wanting it will be 15cc/day

Also I changed up my lighting schedule on my hydra's trying to resemble the radion's ab+ settings a little more!

Current tank parameters are

Ph between 7.9-8.0 apex
Salinity-33.9
Temp -78-78.5 apex controlled
Nitrate <5 API
Calcium- 445 Red Sea
Mg- 1440 Red Sea
Dkh- 8.5.. trying to raise to 9 had gotten to 7.5 before I started dosing.
P04 0.00 ppm Hanna phosphate checker

So I captured a video this evening of my melanurus wrasse after walking into the fish room and seeing sand all over my tank and trachyphyllia coral..

Turns out my wrasse is not a big fan of his own reflection

Finally got the main fish I have wanted since I started the the hobby! A Purple tang! It's a beautiful fish I ordered it from live aquaria small/medium! It arrived in rougher shape than I'm used to swing at live aquaria but still a beautiful fish..

When I first put it in my coral beauty attacked it but even though it is smaller than the coral beauty it showed it who's boss real quick

So I would say life has been a little hectic here lately! My wife and I welcomed a brand new baby girl into the world almost two weeks ago now! And let's just say sleeping through the night is not at the top of her priority..

The tank is still doing great albeit a little neglected I have had a couple changes though.. the purple tang is still doing great! I also added a young male flame fairy wrasse.. it has been a little stressed but now appears to be doing great and eating.. so that's a good thing

Also finally got my new artfully acrylic lid which took a little over six weeks to get here but turned out perfectly!

Oh almost forgot.. changed my flow up a little in the tank.. I added a icecap 3k and that thing has some serious power.. currently have it running at 20% and still almost killed my torches with the flow change ha.. hopefully they will adjust.. my acro's love the extra flow.. they are showing good polyp extension..

Here is a full tank shot.. yeah you see the white paper at the corners.. my melanurus wrasse is dead set that he is going to kill his reflection and causes a sand storm in the tank.. the white paper seems to help some.. he has been doing it for about two weeks now hopefully that will stop soon haha

Alright guys so been a while since I updated my build thread! Had a very busy last couple months my wife had our first child a beautiful healthy little girl! The tank has been running great for the most part.. at least my sps has been doing great! I have had a couple deaths and I’m not really sure of the cause it was my acan’s and war coral.. I’m thinking either to much light killed them or some protest decided they were lunch..

I have had one fish death my flame fairy wrasse didn’t make it.. I believe it was getting bullied to much I did however add a pintail fairy wrasse and a couple new corals

I also added a skimz Cheeto reactor and swapped dosing from ati elements to esv bionic

The tank is still doing great! Actually snapped a few pictures! Only real change is added a leopard wrasse and gold rhomboid wrasse! Also ordered some radions should be here in the next week or so! Once everything settles out with the light time to order some more sps

hi! When you ordered your 350 lid, did you just attach pictures of setup? What custom cutouts did you request? I have 2 Hydras that came with my 350 tank, so I am thinking I would need the same custom type lid as you? I definitely do not trust myself to do the BRS lid..... Thanks so much for your advice and help! -Ellen in Raleigh, NC

Hey so when I ordered mine the site looked completely different I didn’t have to do all that.. however may not be a bad idea to send sketch.. I just measured out and sent him how long and wide the tank was.. also I measure how far the light mounts were from the edge of each overflow and specified that I was using the ai hms mounts.. and he took care of the rest! I also specified where I wanted cord cutouts which was one on each side and at each back corner but again his site did not look like that before.. sorry if I was not much help
