Yeah, beautiful coral.
I think ugly corals come down to not properly selecting good soft corals at the beginning of your tank when we are all first start to learn about the hobby. It is just kinda a fact that in general LPS corals like favia and chalices will have insanely bright colors and nearly always outshine your first mushroom that you purchased on a whim.

But for my pick for ugliest coral would be the Brown Speckled mushroom

Those would make my aiptasia pop!

I'm excited since @Hemmdog made me throw my softie tank in the yard I'm onto a new build lol.

There's so many corals. Think of all the ones we have never seen. If it's healthy the color seems to take a back seat for me compared to shape size and texture.
Why would he do such a thing? A softie tank is a thing of beauty.

@squiderp12 youll love this

I like softies tanks too. Idk why I blanket statemented that. Not a big fan of Kenya trees...

I guess there must be a special place in hell for people who speak badly about ducklings, so you win.

I still have to say that 100% of sps frags are ugly, like 99.99% of the baby birds.

You are correct most Frags are homely until they grow a bit! I’m glad I didn’t have to get out the penguin picture.

Cabbage leather coral is so gross

I don't know... some are... especially the brown ones closed up.... but the one one reef builders all fluffy and happy looks so cool to me. The article states that they need brighter light and flow than most people give them so probably why they look like turds in beginner tanks who probably try these corals.
