Okay. I don’t have a phosphate test. I asked at the lfs and they said I only needed the pH, ammonia, and nitrites.

You need more if you are at this point in the cycle. You need nitrates, calcium, magnesium, alkalinity as well as a phosphate test kit. Ammonia and nitrites should be gone by now if you have had 6 months for it to cycle.

I don't know exactly what you have done between then and now but you are certainly on the right track. Still need to invest in those test kits though

Your system will fail fairly soon, you just made a big mistake, hopefully still in time to correct it. That fish is not suitable for you, sorry for being the carrier of bad news
