Um newbie oops

Well then... After reading all day long and finally asking just to see if im going to lose my investment here after seeing 10-15 different how to's and not trusting any of them. I decided to ask here. Sorry if i posted in the newb forum and not the **** forum

Look I edited my post as it may have come across a little harsh. I apologize! I'm even more sorry about all the mixed info your getting. There is NO quick easy fix for ICH.

Your fish may LOOK and ACT fine but chances are they are still carrying the ICH parasite, which is feeding on them! The only time you actually SEE the ICH is when they are getting ready to drop their cysts. The ICH lives beneath the scales, invisible to the human eye.

True... I dunno. Like I said I'm a newb.... I did treat the tank since I did not have a qt...which I also advised getting soon..... I also said that ich lives dormant that it never really dies.... But my fish have been healthy and ick free for almost 3 months now with no signs of ick since I treated.... Clowns are also prone to break out.... So it may have just been stress related but this medicine has been used by several in my local forum with the same good results so its worth a shot.... He has no corals so wouldn't he be able to just treat in the tank? Or would that lead to coral distress down the road? I dunno like I said I'm a newb as well and this stuff worked for me along with a slight temp raise, water changes, and feeding garlic! It was not easy by no means....and like I said before it may not work cause all tanks are different. It worked for me so to me its worth a shot.

So ive read :( I guess its kinda like either they have it or they are immune cause of the slime coat they have. I have one false occ. Clown that is fine, hes still the little spaz since i got him day 1 and he looks alright, as far as the other clown he looks like a powdered doughnut lol :( but from what im reading its never truly gone just really small amounts and really healthy fish. Just sucks that after all this time waiting taking my time doing all the steps (except QT lol woopsie) and getting the right equipment that it would happen now, but thats the nature of the beast i guess. I'll try that med the mrsbest put up and lower my salinity and rasie the temp a little. Maybe that combo will get it done faster/better

Bring the salinty down to 1.08 that will kill all ich . Do it slowley

What he means is ich will always live in the sand, rock, and heck the silicone of the tank no matter what. Once a tank gets ich it has it.... But the fish can be treated and it can be pretty well stopped..... Sorta... I'm sure someone else can explain better... What I was told it will lie dormant in the tank and every so often you will have an outbreak due to stress and will have to retreat the fish.....

This is a myth and not true. Ich will be totally gone if you remove the fish and allow the tank to go fallow for 6-8 weeks. Ich comes in on fish usually those purchased at your local fish store or unreputable sources. If you get rid of it, it will not return until you re-introduce it on another fish by not having a QT.

I tried a freshwater dip for the heck of it on one of my clowns and all the ich fell right off him. The other clown that had some serious problems like disapeered in my tank. Like gone :O sad part is i dont have a tank that i can use as a QT yet and im afraid if i lower my salinity many of my fish will die :( im trying to find them a new home but its tough when they all have a known ich infection
