I just went through this with another reefer on R2R. The seller has 10 days to respond once you escalate the dispute, in my case the seller never responded to paypal and my money was refunded the day after the 10 days were up. This was the first time I have ever had to do a dispute and it was quite frustrating so I feel for all of you.

I haven’t received mine yet, but the claim shows that the seller had until yesterday to respond to paypal. Clearly, there was no response so I expect to see my money back soon.
 
Wanted to check and see if everyone got taken care of and if the user was ever prosecuted for his scam

Guys, one piece of advice. make sure to make video if he ever sent you that package. so you can have a back up. He might send you guys phony package. At least you have some evidence that he sent you nothing and you can send that video to paypal. good luck to you all who got scammed.
 
No worries.. It take a few days but paypal is the gold standard for a pathetic scammer like this. Your money will definitely be reimbursed just a matter of time. I think you have to wait a few days after opening the claim then escalate and paypal will usually automatically refund you after 1-2 days. That has been my experience with dead beat sellers who never ship. That is the easiest possible claim to win (no tracking instant refund no questions asked)

+1! I had a scammer once mail me an empty box to get around the PayPal dispute.

I've had that happen. Years ago, I bought a PS2 on ebay. After a week of no reply or shipping info from him, I emailed and asked. He said his "shipment hasn't come in yet." I told him it was a gift and I just wanted my money back. He then said if I gave him good feedback, he would refund my money, MINUS shipping and ebay listing fees. Of course I refused. After filing disputes on ebay and paypal, he sent me a bubble wrap envelope with a note inside that said the PS2 would ship asap. He gave that tracking number to paypal who closed the claim without even verifying anything with me. I took pictures of the package with tracking number and also noted the UPS weight, stating that there was no way he could have shipped the PS2. I finally got my money back.

My advice is to ALWAYS fund your paypal account with your visa debit card. Enter it as if it's a credit card, not a debit. That way, they don't try to do any hold time before paying people. You will then get all the protections and return policies that vis allows. Many don't know it but visa purchases have a return policy that's longer than many retailers' policies. For example, Dell said I had only 30 days to return a laptop to them. I returned about day 45, and gave info to visa. They gave my money back and charged it back to Dell.

Visa (through your bank) can get your money back much faster than ebay or paypal will.
 
BTW, I also never pay on paypal via gift, unless I know the person or have dealt with them before. If they want me to pay the extra 3%, I'd rather do that than gamble on losing all my money.

Yes! I had someone sell me two bad MP10 wetsides on FB that was local so they wanted me to pay via friends on PP. I refused and said I would pay the extra 3% to cover my butt. Best couple dollars I ever spent. They went on and told PP that I broke them and that I was trying to scam her because I wouldn’t pay via friends. It took a while to get my money back on that one because she kept fighting it but in the end PP typically comes through.
