hello, i started filling this tank yesterday and noticed a small gap between tank and the stand. everything looks lined up and level. this is a marineland 60 gallon rimless on a ventura stand. my gut tells me to stop filling or should i continue ? never had this happen before. thanks for any input.

I'd stop filling immediately. That ABSOLUTELY needs to be corrected.

Typically, I put a piece of 1/2 inch Styrofoam cut to the tank footprint and place it between the tank and stand. This has a self leveling effect.

I'm guessing your stand wasn't level. Did you check that your stand to see if it level: left to right, front to back and diagonally?

thanks for the fast response. i did measure the stand and everything looks good. according to their website they do not recommend anything between their rimless tanks and the stand. i am going to contact that about this. thanks again for the input.

ok i called marineland and she getting with her boss tomorrow and they will call me. i also did notice some hairline cracks on the top of the stand.

Did they specifically say not to put anything between the tank and stand? That may be true with rimless tanks as the entire bottom rests on the stand unlike glass tanks where the edges only rest on the stand.

on their website someone asked about something between the tank and stand and their response was to put nothing between them. i am so bummed out. i spent a lot of hours on the plumbing and now i will have to remove it .

Before you tear down your work find out where the problem lies, floor stand or tank. I am betting on a slight irregularity in the floor.

Better to address this now, rather than have a huge mess and loss of fish due to structural failure in the future.

ok i called them today i was very polite but the guy on the other end was an ******. i had to send them pics tonight and hopefully hear something tomorrow. the stand is sitting on berber carpet. the stand and the tank are all leveled so i will see what they say. thanks for every ones input.

If this is my problem to deal with, I invert the empty tank and run a straight edge along the entire bottom and across the stand to see if there is a defect in the manufacturing.

Again, I would not mind seeing pics.

Let us know how it goes

No reason not to add cushion between tank and stand yoga mat or neoprene works great styro cheaper but ugle

got an email today and they are sending me another tank. this tank does have a bubble in the silicone near one of the bad points. DOM, once i get it tore down i am going to do what you said and run a straight across both. i like the idea of a mat but they say not to with there assy. this has an open top so i am not sure how well that would work if i used one. thanks again everyone for the input.
