Your decorators are probably larger / equal sized to the octopus, so it’s the hermits that will get picked off.
Eventually you’ll have the opportunity to net it out. Or if you see the rock nook it is in, then remove the rock. I like the coke bottle trap suggestion but fill it with crabs.
