So I purchased an Apex Classic second hand. Love the thing but it needs an update. I read through it and realize it says to not do the update over wifi. Well, the first time I disconnected it from the router and plugged it directly into my computer. I bricked the box.... like hard, nothing worked. Fortunatly a factory reset was still an option and I did that. I believe I should have connected it to the router AND my computer. Just making sure here but, do I need to go into my router and then into my computer using the router as a hub?

Second question: I have two clocks on my fusion display. I can not find the "clock" icon where the manual says its supposed to be. Maybe this is apart of the software update? Or is there something I am missing?

Both your computer and the Apex should be hard wired to your router or a network switch. See Neptune's official instructions here: https://www.neptunesystems.com/firmware/

For the clock, you need to go to the Apex local dashboard to change the configuration rather than from Fusion.

Thank you, I was connecting computer directly to Apex.... oops

I have never had a 12H clock, nor do I have the tile in fusion. Did neptune do away with it during an update? My local dashboard shows 12H time, but fusion has always shown 24H format.

So last night I was able to update the light and then had to update a module as well. No big deal and both went very smoothly. Well then I noticed my refugium light was not on this morning. Below are screenshots of the program. Nothing was changed post update. I still have two clocks which I did go to the dashboard and set to auto configure but nothing about two different times.

No idea if it makes a difference, but I have always done:

Set ON
if time 19:59 to 07:29 then off

If that doesn't solve the issue, it could be the 2 clocks things. I have gone into my classic dashboard and it only allows me to adjust for daylight savings time, whether I want it to automatically adjust the time, and what my time zone is.

I see no other options for time, and I do not have a second tile in fusion for a second time tile.

What version of the software are you running? My latest firmware on my classic is: 4.53 4D19

The 2 clocks is because daylight savings just happened. Happens 2x a year for me and goes away after about a week.

Interesting as I have never had it happen. Do you have the option for daylight savings time to automatically adjust?

Odd though as his clocks are 2 hours apart, not just one for daylight savings time.

That is odd....
I’ve only ever seen it happen to mine each year at daylight savings. And I actually just went to check my apex classic screen now and it’s just one click whereas yesterday and the day before I had 2.

also interestingly it does NOT happen to my newer 2016 Apex EL

That is odd.

Just looked at my classic, its dated 2013, and I have never had the 2 clocks. And yes obviously I live in a state that observes DST.

I'm assuming you are both on the same firmware?

Seems to be the 2 clocks thing. That didn't work...

Updated firmware last night and had a module update as well. Both are at current revision.

I have issues with my programming if I uncheck "Daylight saving time" in the classic dashboard. Even though the time stays the same on the clock, my programming is an hour slow.

have you checked to see if that is enabled?

Yes I’m aware. I didn’t realize the OP was off by more than that as I’ve only ever had it do a single hour for DST. I was wrong.
Wasn't trying to be a smart butt. Was more of an inquisitive statement/question.
I will restart the Apex and see if that fixes it after the update last night.
