Upgrade skimmer pump or new skimmer

I don't even know what you mean lol. This is my first skimmer mod. All my other skimmers were plug and play. Just ajust water. I assume I need to mess with air intake

You have a reef octopus right? From the pic you posted? The gate valve is the vent control. That's how you control water flow through the skimmer.

Oh yea. I have made adjustments. But dose not seem to do much. How ever I think it's getting to much air as j used the Venturi off the reef octopus pump. So I am going to try a small hose.
