Upgrade skimmer pump or new skimmer

Oh ok. I seen a question on aquacave. Saying it dose not come with one. But I ordered mine through local fish store. Thanks

I have a classic NT 150 reef octopus and just clean on regular basis and it works great , but some times it will go a few days and not much Skim but then all of sudden the cup has a half a cup of good dark skim.

Have you opened up the gate valve to run more water thru it , I have mine set where the water levels is about an inch above where the neck starts to taper , you just need to play with the adjustment and find what works for your sump and return. I did adjust mine where it was skimming a lot but my overflow could not keep up with it so I had to turn it down some.

Yea I have messed with it allot. I got it used and it worked ok. But never performed like my older reef octopus on my tank before this. I have had water level to the max and still hardly pulls anything out. Even when vodka dosing it hardly pulls anything.

Sorry , I am kind of new back to the hobby after 20 years , and don't know anything else about the skimmer other than that. Mine seems to do well, hope all works out well

No worries,You never know. I could have been something easy. I would have rather spent the money on something else. But the upgrade should help

Thats really bizarre. I got my psk for my RO from Coralvue. And it came with the venturi and they included the reef octopus union adapter.

So I think I found the adapter I need. It is the Extreme 200 Output adapter. It looks identical to mine except it came with the psk1000. Only difference is pump and its red. Other wise looks same. The skimmer it looks like is the reef octopus extreme 200

It has massive suction through the Venturi. Sucks my finger down my old pump did not do that

I like how quite it is. But it dose not really pull anything out. But today I decided to put my finger covering most of the air hole. And it seems to work better when I close off some air. The bubbles get finer. And seem to actually want to work there way into the cup.
