Upgrading from 29g to 42g tomorrow

If you don’t mind a little cloudy water for a few days I really like Garf Grunge.

Back to the bacteria and recycle. The beneficial bacteria is very hardy and will not be harmed by rinse in cool tap water. The good bacteria can get covered up by organic material and removing the organic material makes the good bacteria work better.

Most likely yes. The live rock will gift life to the new sand but will take longer.
Oh ok perfect thank you! I will try and find live crushed sand but if I cant then i will have to go with dry. I am not planning on doing a deep bed just enough to hide the bottum and give a little room for inverts. I have over 40+ pounds of live rock in the 29g right now so It shouldn't be too much of a problem on that end then haha. I'm just worried about the corals. I have nothing that is crazy sensitive. Mainly ricadea, 15 different zoas, a bunch of montis, frogspawn, hammer, acans, 1 acro, xenia, gsp, and a birdnest. Alot of money spent haha

Pretty sure reusing old water won't make a difference in bacteria level. It's all about your live rock and somewhat the sand, but less so if you don't have a deep sand bed.

When I've moved tanks over the years, I've had good success using mostly new sand and water, and making sure the live rock goes directly from one tank to the next.

Would it be suggested to rinse with RODI or saltwater after the tap water rinse? I am concerned about chlorine or other chems attaching to the sand and released into the tank.

Before and after. Process went alot faster than I thought haha thanks everyone for the help! I will get a new picture once it clears up and I fully scape it

Anyone know what more fish I could add? I have 5 total 2 clowns, six line wrasse, royal gramma, and a lawnmower blenny. Would It be too much bioload to add maybe 3 chromis? Or maybe some other ideas? It is a mixed reef

You are probably close the max. Give it a few weeks and see if you can keep up with the algae. I like thread fin cardinals for small fish.
