Your tank is looking awesome!
Oh wow! Beautiful! Your sps are doing so good!
" It’s also the reason I haven’t added any new fish (other than the goby and that took five tries sheesh). But it’s too much risk for me to put an Achilles tang in there or sohal tang or even gem tang or black tang (long nosed black tang). I don’t wanna risk the harm of my fish, and or lose the money on a new one. So when in doubt I leave the tank alone. "
Very wise words!
I'm still working on that. [emoji53]
In the study with little kids and 1 cookie now or 2 cookies if you wait 10 minutes, I'm the 1 cookie kid all the way. [emoji849]
This week I visited 4 LFS and wanted to add 5 possible new fish.
Fortunately I didn't add any. But it was a 10 minute session of weighing the pros and cons with each fish.
So sad that I want a gold star for behaving. [emoji23]

[emoji23]2 cookie kid here...![]()
Hello,
Wow sorry my friends I didn’t check my thread and again lol behind. Have no idea why it doesn’t pop up, should make a habit of checking.
@norfolkgarden i would have given you the whole box for your amazing patience. So proud, cause I’m a lot like you when it comes to neat and pretty things for my tank. Boise is really small so we have three lfs but one of them really creeps me out so I kinda stay away lol.
@crusso1993 lol I still would have given you the whole box also, just to see the reaction.
So I had this odd talk with my parents today, as a point of fact I have no clue how it came to light. But my dad (of all people asked me) Sarah if you were to pass away tonight for example what would you do with s everything? Which made me kinds hesitant, but I said well first I would make sure my tank is taken care of and the one person I trust the most (my dad) lol I would give you my tank. His response was shocking, umm why in the heck (other word) would I want it, if anything I would just give to the lfs. I stopped after that cause I have always been proud of my tank. It’s one of the few things that’s defines me. This also gave me a huge hint on who NOT to leave my tank to. But as sensitive as it is as odd, has anyone ever thought about this? I mean what would I do, (well obviously of this happens to me I am reporting to grave duty ASAP, but that’s just me lol, among other things (like haunting all those who tormented me lol) (kidding on the last part). I have never considered anything like this, and well I hope it’s much later than sooner for everyone.
I'd assume it's relatively rare for someone you are super close with (family for example) to be as vested as you are in a hobby, especially one like reef keeping. The amount of responsibility in owning a smaller tank let alone a giant one like yours (and your future one) is pretty high for someone who isn't interested. It's really an interesting thought. I think in the case of not knowing anyone who would want it, or is responsible enough to care for it, I would find a way to donate it to someone who cant afford it. Then again that's tough because if they can't afford it in the first place how could they afford to maintain it.
Hmm maybe donate the livestock to a local public aquarium? Especially with big cool fish like you have/will have. Then you can let your family sell the tank and components. (i'm using you as an example, obviously not pushing ideas or wishing you harm).
Hello,
Lol no worries I know and totally understand your point etc but it’s a very valid point. I would probably either donate it to a school, aquarium, or someone on here that I can trust. It did stun me, what my dad said, because they bought me the 425, as a graduation gift lol. I’m glad they did, but their bathroom is bigger than my whole house. It’s not like they don’t have room. But I mean even my home or vehicle, personal things that I adore. I would hate for my parents to just throw them away. It brings in perspective that things you have really only matter to their owner. (The kiddos though lol made this kinda funny they said if you die can I have your legos (oldest nephew, my niece wanted my clothes sorry no darling that’s just creepy. Oh wow what a beautiful shirt (oh thanks it was my aunts but she is dead now) yeah sorry I will leave you money to buy clothes.

@crusso1993 cookies and chocolate!
You are a sweet young lady. [emoji846]
Accent on the young part. [emoji846]
Hopefully it will be decades before you have to consider worrying about disposing of your next of kin's personal effects.
You keep a few of the clothes that bring you the best memories. [emoji846]
The rest go to other family members or Goodwill.
Be generous about who gets what. It's not worth fighting over. [emoji846]
Most of the furniture gets kept by various family members but some of it simply gets sold or Goodwill.
Hopefully someone will be intrested in moving into the house or you sell that too.
Hopefully that doesn't turn into a ridiculous nightmare concerning the separating of various other assets.
Your tank is a "test" that they will most likely fail at, and that will make them sad.
Give it to another reefer who would appreciate it. [emoji846]
I remember having several 7" black arawannas when I went to bootcamp.
Asking my dad to take care of them was meaner than I realized.
He felt really bad when they both died while I was still in boot camp.
Just about all of our stuff/wishes are fully organized at this point.
Same with our 87 year old parents.
It's just the normal end of a wonderful life. [emoji846]
Happens to all of us. [emoji846]
All good things must come to an end. Hopefully you can leave a few good stories behind that make people laugh.
