Urgh seriously.

While the whole disco thing was happening, I was listening to Lynyrd Skynard, Allman Brothers Band, Eagles, Marshall Tucker Band, Grateful Dead, Crosby Stills Nash & Young, Fleetwood Mac, The Band, Bob Segar & the Silver Bullett Band, Chicago, Firefall, Steely Dan, just to name a few. I did just fine without disco. :)

Wow lol I listen to most of those now, specially Fleetwood Mac, Crosby stills Nash and young, the eagles I really liked don Henley and glen frey, bob segar is good I have all of them on my phone also. I only had the one album from fire fall (just remember I love you song), I have seen Chicago a few times in concert and foreigner as well. The first two concerts I saw Fleetwood Mac and Neil diamond with my parents. The live version of little lies when I was there was really good, and I have to say Neil diamond was really good also. But I have seen foreigner, Chicago, bob dylan, joan Jett who was performing with mc hammer, journey, these were in Boise, and my first two were in salt lake. But I saw Natalie merchant in Seattle (loved it). I also so not as well known but love their music a group called black happy. They only made three albums but I have worn all three out lol and love who they incorporate three trombones sax twin drummers, and normal bass, lead, rhythm. I saw them in Seattle their home town, but years after they kinda split up and then back together etc. do you remember the group the astronauts by chance?

Speaking of not being a fan of disco, did you know about or do you recall "Disco Demolition Night" at Comiskey Park?

Hello,

Lol yes I am aware of it and wasn’t overly fond of it. I mean it was as bad as when John Lennon said the Beatles were more popular than Jesus. He meant that people spent more time listening and doing other things than spending time learning about Jesus. It was a huge backlash and similar where people threw and broke records and burned them etc.
yes the causes were different but same out come. I do like some disco groups not many maybe five or few more than that. But even now their music is still very popular and played on the radio, aka beegees, Amy Stewart, I mean even the group kiss made a disco song aka I was made for loving you and people loved it because they were a rock band.

There are types of music I’m not fond of, but I’d never consider anything like that, to me it’s all art. Some people love some paintings as well others do not. Doesn’t mean one should burn and destroy them although it has happened. If people don’t like types of music lol just don’t buy it or listen to it. As point of fact one of my friends gave me a Justin Bieber cd as a gift. It’s a gift and she means a lot to me, buttttttt lol it’s stil sealed in the wrapper and probably always will be.

The funny part is recognizing some random song that you like is by the beeber.
A younger friend got a kick out of that.
Lol, no clue what the song title was, it was just surprising to find out I liked something he did.

Lol, what an evolution beeber went through...

Hello,

Lol she was huge into new music and he was her hero. I have probably heard remnants of some songs but yeah wasn’t for me lol. Didn’t want to hurt her feelings but didn’t wanna go tone deaf either.

@rkpetersen
I am privileged to know the two local Neurosurgeons as friends. I also have friends who are Dentists, Orthopedic Surgeons as well as other specialty Physicians. They all are very patient oriented and a great group of people! As you may know my dad was a Physician with lots of fellowships and specialties. So I expect more from the profession than a measurement of egos! I guess since I have that background I have no problem asking for better from those who have spent so much time in patient contact. I understand the whole jaded thing. I just guess the education system should wash out those who have very little compassion or empathy for the human condition! I have very little patience for educated individuals who think their education makes them Masters Divine! So as a result I am shocked by bad behavior from professionals in medicine or dentistry! Right or wrong I expect more.....I think as a patient I am mindful of the necessity to self advocate because we are all human. And remember they call the profession of medicine a practice! Would you want me to show up and tell you I am running a practice on your new kitchen? I think not! How about I am practicing on the construction of your new mega aquarium? I am skilled at both but mindful of my humanity and my ability to make mistakes....I just don't get paid for them lol!

You people are all awesome by the way!
Well said @Lowell Lemon. Not to take this thread off topic, but since I've pretty much read most of the entire thing, I'm not sure there is a "topic." Where in Washington are you? I'm up in Oak Harbor.

Hello,

I agreed with that post and was well thought out. In terms of making me laugh :) which I enjoy, your definitely not throwing us off topic. My thread is like one minute saltwater tank next my nephews peeing in it then this then that. It’s almost easier to list topics and spin the dial and that’s the topic of today. But I love it, and as much as I adore learning about reefing, and my tank (s) there is only so much before one gets bored. So it’s fun to talk about life as we do our hobby and have fun with it :).

Hey Sarah what’s your go to cure for bacterial blooms. Woke up to this

You saw Chicago ! I'm jealous.
I saw Chicago live also. Unfortunately, I guess I caught them on a bad night. It was sometime in the mid-70s, so it wasn't like some of these bands that tour with the old names and mostly different people. That usually tight horn section was all over the place. A little disappointed. But, that happens sometimes with a live performance. Maybe their sound guy was having a bad night - or hungover. :-)

I always stop by here just to read what is going on and the topic of the day.

So this is from the 70s it was a golden hit (@Fin I bet you could dance to this one lol ) but do you remember the rubberband man song lol.

Prepare yourself! :D

Seriously though, it's very rare to find someone in their twenties who appreciates 'our' music. You rock! (Literally!)

Unfortunately, I do remember that song, but I was not really a fan of Disco. :)

I was born 4 years after you, and I agree DISCO SUCKS.
I had a T shirt that said that and wore it frequently.
But I still kind like that song though. :p

Plus Aerosmith, Kansas, Styx, the Doobie Brothers, Heart, REO Speedwagon, Rush, Supertramp.
To name a few more. :D

I think it is a good thing that some young people are discovering real rock n roll. The decades from the 60s to the 80s was so rich with original music, not like I find the music of today. A lot of it sounds the same to me today. I am so glad I grew up in a time that was so rich in music. Great bands everywhere!
