Urgh seriously.

It is absurd, because the clockspring is located BEHIND the air bag module. Besides, it is a utility vehicle and some dust should not be an issue.

The air bag modules usually aren’t $1,300. More in the $500 range. Of course, they should probaly also replace the SRS module, clockspring, driver side seat belt (if the pretensioner locked up) and some even require the steering column to be replaced. I have looked at cars (fairly new ones) that restoring the restraint system actually totals the cars. It can be very expensive. Plus, you really shouldn’t drive it again until the system is restored.

And I am glad you sound okay. If you got seriously hurt we may have all flown to Idaho for some payback.

+1 !

I don't like to see friends taken advantage of.

You need to be as angry as your parents.

+1 on going to next level of company immediately.

Let the dealership scream at their boss instead of your dad.

I can't express enough that the dealership is a total scumbag and will do everything they can to screw you.

You need to immediately be talking to people above the level of this dealership.

Hope your arm isn't too bruised.

Make sure you have taken pictures of every injury you have!

Hello,

My arm has definitely bruised and not sure how bad it will be atm. But at least my coat was on, and I had a long sleeve shirt on. I honestly feel I would have been burned min first degree if not up to third degree. Although I have ideas of what Is going on w me lol, I had to Schedule a dr appt. to make sure I’m not missing anything.

Not to mention I had to use my auto insurance to rent a vehicle the dealership refused and referred me to their rent a car place and it was like 50 a day. So I said nope I have full coverage insurance so it will be free for me. But the fact I had to use it is bloody wrong.

Unbelievable. I honestly would not have left my car with them, but it is probably far to another dealer for you. I mean, they messed up your car, injured you, then blamed you, held your car and would not lend you one to use or cover the rental. How can you trust them to do further work on this vehicle?

Hello,

We are not, there is only one other Jeep dealership that’s close to me which there is one in nampa, and one in salt lake. I am having my insurance company pick my Jeep up tomorrow. It’s just if I had one of my nephews or niece and it had hurt them I would have never forgiven myself and honestly I don’t trust them at all.

Hello,

Well lol I am pretty sore, my arm has bruised pretty good or is getting there. The whole side of my face hurts plus my lower jaw bone hurts lol and still kinda feel like I had the wind knocked out of me. Still went into work but lol they were not too thrilled about the idea, in actual honesty I really didn’t want to go to work for 24 long hours. But my dr appt is tomorrow luckily. Dealership still after today says I’m at fault for failure to keep maintenance on my Jeep and should have scheduled sooner and or kept my Jeep clean.

My dad pointed out that it only blew up after they serviced it . My dad had a close friend come in and we looked at my Jeep. He said that the software version (I’m shooting in he dark on this) hasn’t been updated since 2011. In short he implied they failed to download a newer version to my vehicle. In addition the dealership said they did a courtesy flash update to the jeeps main computer, which they billed me for. Which I never have them permission to do, but the when my dads friend who is a mechanic checked the flash update for the computer showed last updated 2011 the year my Jeep was made.
When he showed the service director this, his response was well your snap on tool is incorrect. He said fine in front of me scan her vehicle with your own device, it will show no new updates. They refused and told him to leave and not to not come back. So we have contacted the Main corporate office and also Chrysler about what’s going on.

Which do their behavior, I had my vehicle towed to a different dealership. I’m literally terrified to have them work on my car again. Even if I have to pay for it, I want to feel safe and be safe. My dad said he is not done and will take them to court.

But yes lol it’s been a nightmare and yes my dad has pics of the damage and bruising etc. When I see the doctor tomorrow we will then have an official report of injury which will be super helpful. Yet, still hurts to breath (chest pain) but it’s not the symptoms of broken ribs etc. so I feel so lucky that I will be glowing with radiation here soon. :)

Yeah, I smell something in your future. Not sure if it is victory or redemption, but the smell is sweet.

(olfactory clairvoyance?)

I normally think we litigate way too much as a society. In this case, I feel suing is necessary. This type of action isn't just irresponsible and unjust, but it is incredibly dangerous.

I do hope you recover quickly. I've heard watching reef tanks can help speed the recovery process.

I hope your dad gives them he- -! This would have been a good time to have had a social media account. After a few hundred - or thousand - people would read about what happend, they might just see a slow down in sales. It’s not libel if its true.

I think a call to the local Better Business Bureau might be in order as well. Then sue the begesus out of them. That is no way to run a business and they should not be allowed to operate that way.

Hello,

What’s frustrating is they blame me for it, yet all I did was receive a piece of paper or recall notice in the mail. I just took it to them to be serviced is all. But another interesting fact is (my Jeep was towed to where my family normally takes all our vehicles), but according to the shop owner today per the recall on the clock spring (which I have no idea what that is, they are suppose to swap the driver side air bag for a new one, then send the old one back. When they asked the dealership for it they said they no longer had it. What the shop didn’t say is the airbag they removed the date is from 2010. So the shop believes they didn’t even change the airbag out at all. They just changed the clockspring which they told me the new ones send (I don’t know how to explain this so I’m winging it) more power to the air bag I guess. Which would cause the bag to go off. So once we have their final report, my dad says they will have a lot to answer for.

Yes watching my tank in my super soft sweat shirt and pants and blanket is awesome. Just moving at all is pretty painful, so I’m camping out on the couch.

What they did was gross negligence and very, very dangerous. Total disregard for your safety. You may end up owning a car dealership! :-)

Get some rest and take it easy for a while.

You may end up owning a car dealership! :)
If it was this car dealership, that could end up being a punishment!

She could serve Fruity Pebbles to people waiting for service - and warm chocolate milk (right out of the cupboard). :-)

Hello,

Lol @Brew12 my dear friend lol it’s been a horrible week and it’s only Tuesday :). But Lol don’t jinx me for life, I’d rather push trash out of the back of a garbage truck than own that dealership, or you could have it a vehicle for everyone on here free of charge from them :). Just for service calls and repairs I’d suggest a different location, it will take a very long time to break old bad habits. :)
