Use This Paticular Hikari AHK73254 Prazipro ?

That's the same bottle I have ... except that the LFS only had the larger (and significantly more expensive!) size. I shouldn't need to buy it again until about four years after I'm dead . . . (9_9) Works just fine, in my experience.

Lol,.....our LFS only had the 55g barrel. ;)

Do you guys use it from day one with new fish, or only if you see parisites etc. ?

I like to allow a new fish a few days to acclimate to the QT, but will use Prazi-Pro as a precaution. A _lot_ of fish arrive with flukes, and they're often hidden inside the gills, where you'd never see the actual parasite. (You can sometimes spot infected fish by behavior.) Two doses, about a week apart, as the medicine doesn't kill eggs, and there may be some remaining on the fish.

Do you also use copper at the same time, or wait and see if crypt shows up ?

Ideally, I like to start ramping up copper _after_ the second dose of Prazi and a water change. Prazi doesn't always play nicely with other meds, and mixing them can strip oxygen from the water. Not every time, but often enough . . .

If something that needs copper shows up though, that changes the equation. If velvet shows up, Prazi-Pro is my last, least worry!

What brand of copper and test kit do you like best ?

I like Coppersafe and the API test kit the best. I'm used to the test kit, and reading it so I never have trouble with it. Some people tend to have issues with reading the colors - just fyi.

I use prazipro in conjunction with copper but you'll want to watch for a bacterial bloom which can happen on occasion.

I do have problems reading colors, that's why I use Hannah's.
So that's why I'm worried about reading colors properly, with such a deadly overdose product like copper.

People who have a hard time reading the API test kit like the Chemetrix kit. I might have spelled that wrong.

I tried ionic copper, and lost a lot of wrasses. With chelated copper like Coppersafe, they make it to my display - and so did my flame angelfish.

Is that the digital low range checker? HC-H1747

I'm having a terrible time reading the api test color chart

FYI; Below are two "professional grade" test kits capable of measuring all forms of copper. Public aquariums, research institutions, etc. prefer these over "hobbyist grade" copper test kits.

Yeah, but it's still a color difference test.
I'm finding it's getting harder to see the differences

Have you tried asking your wife or someone else to double check your readings? That's what I do whenever I'm in doubt.

Don't take this the wrong way, but many people are colorblind (to some degree) and don't even realize it.

I have asked her and she is as bad as me.
I would have to say for some it's just a age related thing.
