VarioS-6 or Vetrca M1

I'll be buying the return pump for my reefer 250 this weekend. I've really been looking at the reef octopus various-6 pump and comparing to the vectra m1.

The only concern I have is the amount of noise. I've watched multiple videos and read many reviews on the m1. From the feedback it is in fact as silent as the manufacturer states.

Information on the reef octopus varios line is hard to come by. I'm actually leaning in this direction because of the price point. But I fear that saving a few bucks may mean more noise in the living room. I don't have any apex so being able to control this pump out of the box via the apex doesn't matter. The float switch included is a nice feature.

Yes these pumps are over sized. The objective is to run a manifold!

The vectra definitely are silent. It also has thermal protection to keep it from running dry.

Friend of mine just got the various 6 and loves it. Said its quiet and more control than any other pump he's had. Actually thinking of getting one of these for my build.

I have the RO Varios 6. For me, it is the perfect return pump. It's so good I can't really imagine why the M1 cost so much more.

Im running the varioS 6 in my 75g...very happy ,death silent..move a lot a water ..excelent costumer services...and all parts avalaible , high recomended

I have a vectra L1 running closed loop, dead silent. But it looks like you can't go wrong with either pump.

Various 6 it can be controlled by apex to with out reeflink silent the only reason I think you can justify cost difference is using for closed loop,
I am bias though I like all Coral Vue Products
Various is made in Germany; Ecotech is made inChina

Yes my skimmer and return pump are controlled by apex they both are coral vue products.Coral Vue is based out of Louisiana plus i am good friend with workers and. XO

If you have the older RO-DC-5500 like I did, you need to replace the controller and power supply. This actually increases the power and max head pressure, as the old PS was 24V and the new is 36V. Not a bad upgrade, increased power and control!

I'm sure you can easily sell it. When you have the Varios you will see they are quality. Very well built, meant to last.

Great, thanks for the input! I have to make my decision today. I'll be able to save a decent amount of money going with the Varios-6. Is the Varios-6 in fact 3.75" x 5.7" - My return chamber is 13.8" x 4.7".

Well I don't want to take it out but yea its compact. Thought I think you need to add maybe 2" for the screen on the intake.
