VarioS-6 or Vetrca M1

One of the adapters that came with my pump connected directly to 1 1/4" PVC which is nice because that reduces head pressure quite a bit

Thanks for the image! I'll have about 5' of head height plus a manifold. Probably run 3 lines off the manifold. The plumbing will be reduced down to 3/4" or 1/2". Need to figure out what color I want to go with now as far as plumbing. May stick with a red/white theme.

Nice!!! Ordered mine a few hours ago. Got another ehiem heater since that was one of the specials as well!

You going to be doing a manifold?

Why would you reduce the plumbing so much? That adds a lot of head pressure? If your doing a manifold, do it in 1 1/4" PVC or larger, then you can reduce the fittings from there.

3/4 spears gate valve $22
1 1/4 spears gate valve $50

This is all going inside the cabinet of a Red Sea reefer 250. Space is a premium. I don't have any real need to run such large pvc, Red Sea recommends 660gph the pump I ordered is double that.

Well, it is DC so you can tune down the power. These are not pressure rated pumps so the more head on them really can reduce the flow considerable.

You could get as much as 10ft of head pressure or more. Because your running a manifold and feeding other things also that adds up. Put it in the head lose calculator, use the Red Dragon equivalent. See what your end flow comes out too.

I don't need that much pressure. I'm going to end up using maybe 2' of pvc by the time I use gate valves and unions. Probably not even a foot of pvc to be honest. This is a very short run. Again this is why I went with the bigger pump over the 4.

@bif24701 I stand corrected. I was under the impression that this pump came with a 1" output, my thought process was then to reduce down to 3/4". Had it come with a 1" output I didn't figure reducing down to 3/4 would be a big deal. With that being said I still have no plans to pipe this with 1 1/4" I do plan to reduce it down to 1" out of the pump and run 1" until I get to the tank -

Fits the reefer 250 perfect!

This pump has been running for a few weeks now and it is silent!

The RO Varios is great, when the -8 comes out I'm upgrading to that for sure.

Is there talk about a bigger version being released?

Really nice pump...3 month not problem at all...good costumer services and warranty terms ..
