Varios-8 leaking, help!

You should not be applying any sealant to the threads. You should have a washer in between the volute and the union. This will provide the seal needed to prevent the leak.
It's leaking between the washer and the volute, both parts supplied by RO. I'm outside of the return period so...sealant it is.

On my Varios 6, run externally as well, I had to use pliers to tighten the Union to Volute. That stopped my leaking.

I twisted it until I heard a crack..... Yikes
Ouch. :( What broke, the Union or the Volute? And maybe you're at the point you could use PVC cement, because it doesn't matter on these cracked pieces. (buying new ones anyways, and maybe cement will seal the crack - Lemonade out of Lemons?!?)

Is the washer you have the clear silicone?
Wha? No.

The varios comes with a 1" fitting. That fitting is made of two pieces. One connects to the volute threads. It compresses the other piece so you can attach a pvc pipe (with glue). The part that is supplied by RO that connects to the volute is leaking. It shouldn't be.

You should have been supplied with a black flat washer. If you have this one it will not leak. I had the same problem with a reactor with Varios. Since they came out with this new washer it won’t leak

Two different parts. The part you're taking about is for the barb fitting. The fitting I'm taking about is the other one circled.
