Velcro's 93g SPS cube

Good to know regardless. I may turn my attention and research to an SC Aquariums 90 - 36x24x24

That would be a great tank. Easier to light in my opinion too since I'm limited to 24" length lights with my 30x30. Being heavy SPS, I'd honestly rather have 36x24 to light so I could 100% coverage.

Yeah. I am currently running IM 20 with heavy SPS so just upgrading in size to add more wrasses. Thinking about the new AquaticLife Hybrid system and 36" unit would work. Plus the stand is 31" tall. I'd prefer 36" height but better than 26 or whatever the cube stand is.

Yea I would be allllll over that aquatic life fixture if I had a 24" wide tank. Then I'd probably put two kessil 360we's or a ap700 on that and be golden!

could i ask what your lighting schedule is ive got 2 of the 5012s and a heavily sps domiated tank ive just changed from 10x80watt t5s and like the colour that you r lights give out cheers ian

I run 7 hours of red: 20% green: 20% royal blue/blue/violet: 100% white: 70%

Outside of that 7 hours is ramping of mostly blues.

Tank looks great Velcro. I trust the UV sterilizer is still knocking back the dinos?

I took the UV off about three weeks ago. I had to leave town for work for a week and quite frankly don’t trust a jebao UV when I’m not home :) I actually had about a week of Dino’s show up (very light infestation) a few days before taking the uv off, but also noticed that my phosphates were 0 ppb on the Hanna. Dosed phosphates up to 0.05 and the Dino’s eventually went away even without the UV.

Quick cell phone shots of the lighting change I did over the week. I love(d) the photon v2’s but I’ve been wanting to try t5/kessil for a while now. I really like how it turned out. I’m running 4x blue+, 2x actinic, 2x reefbreeder actinic bars and 2x kessil a360we. 200 par at the sandbed and 350 par in the middle of the tank.

I’m going to let things settle in for a month or so then thinking about adding two more t5 GE 6500k and running them like 4 hours a day to see if I notice any difference in growth.

Added the last two t5 to my setup. I wanted 250 par on the bottom of the tank, but didn’t want to ditch my two actinics. Currently running 4x blue plus, 2x actinic, 1x coral plus and 1x 6500k. I’ll probably switch the 6500k for another coral plus.

This is 350-375 par at the middle of the tank and 250 par at the bottom.

love this build! updates?

Thanks! I’ll get a good update going in a day or so. Going to need to do some changes in my dosing since alk demand has reached 6 liters of saturated kalkwasser a day. Going to be adding a calcium reactor most likely.

Alright, so this tank will be coming down in about two months. The microbubbles are making me a bit nervous. I started a lagoon/frag system a month ago and am getting it to a healthy spot before I transfer live stock of the next 2-3 months. I do have some photos to show as things are doing better than ever:

First, an acquisition I just made today at a frag swap from Jason himself:

Don't mind the PVC, it's my water change plumbing.

Vivid confetti that I inherited from a friend that broke down his tank while he builds a new home.

Is that little guy a homewrecker?

Also why are you taking the tank down?
