At this point I might as well use copper seeing that velvet kills fast and I really dont want to lose these clowns.

Im at a loss

That's what I would do. Copper is easy to come by which is why it's so widely used over CP.

Ill pick some up asap.
I don't have a large tank to use copper in so could I use it while doing ttm? i.e. Dosing each tank with the same level of copper each transfer.

You could, but if you are going to use copper, there's not much point in doing TTM at the same time. TTM treats ich and so does copper.

but in order to keep the water params stable.
I only have 15-20 gallon tanks on hand.
How do i keep ammonia under control?

A well seeded HOB filter and water changes.

My lfs sells marinepure balls that have been soaking in their tanks for a few months.
Would that work? I could throw a few in my aquaclear and throw an ammonia badge in the tank
If I do a waterchange should I dose the new water beforehand or after?
I thought copper killed bacteria.

Yes the marinepure will work. Yes, copper can kill some of the bacteria but not all.... the population usually bounces back pretty quickly so no worries there. Every water change, you should dose the new water with copper before adding it to the tank. The goal is to keep the copper at therapeutic levels the entire time and not let it drop even a little for the full 30 days.

Ok, ill pickup some copper, formalin ms, marinepure, test kits, and an ammonia badge today. How often should I do water changes? 20% every 3-4 days?

I always just say "as often as needed". Any time you show even the slightest amount of ammonia, do a water change.

In fact, don't use copper during TTM because you cannot dose amquel or prime in the water (which by the way is one way to combat ammonia during TTM) with copper or it'll make the water toxic. Focus on one or the other. :)

Yup, bought some cupramine, formalin, an ammonia badge, and some marinepure. I threw the marine pure in an old hob and mixed the water to 1.019.
Fingers crossed.

Just tested copper. Its a little under 0.15. Should I bring it up a little more for the initial dose or wait until tomorrow?

Wait ;)

You could add some now, I'd try to get it up within a day or two tops. I think with velvet, it's recommended to reach therapeutic levels within 48 hours since it can kill so quickly.

They still seem to be doing alright.
No more spots have appeared.
Ill bring the copper up to 0.35-0.40 within the next day or so.

Its between .25 and .50 on the color card.
Im terrible at reading these :)

Can you post a picture of the test next to the color card (with the window at .4)? That's a pretty big range, and it needs to be at least .35-.4 to be therapeutic.
