How often do pixels die in screens? Not that often within a reasonable time span. It may occur to user error. With that being said, the same repair reference can be made in regards to the New Apex Unit. If the 1Link portion fails, will you have to send the whole unit back just to repair it?

The point is the odds of such events happening are slim. I am pretty sure this company has tested screen failure and created contingencies for such events.

Agree. And I apologize if I upset you.

We are all entitled to our opinions. The more I read, the more I am convinced this controller is not for me. But I do believe competition is a good thing. In the end, companies innovate and consumers ultimately win. We all benefit!

The user is using a wireless mouse that can be attached to the main display via USB. He also informed in the comments of the video that the updates are wireless.

As someone who spent 20+ years in software development and marketing, what the intro price says to me is they need to get units into the field to shake down the product, and they are willing to take the hit to put them out there. It will be classic rev 1.0 situation. Lots of early glitches, probably lots of early firmware updates as they work it out. Nature of the best when you have a complex combo HW/SW product. I kind of enjoy that ride, but it's not for everybody.

These videos and all marketing I have seen are incredibly cheesy. Its hard for me take them serious with how "high end" their products have been known to be. As long as the product walks the walk though I'm happy. At the introductory price ill be jumping in to compare with another tank of mine on an apex.

I figure ill run this on a small QTish tank for a while to get the vibe on how it works.... Id be nervous to put it right on the display. It seems most new releases in this industry are glitchy. Although they have been working on this one forever it seems.

I've worked on the hardware side. Not electronics but mechanical design, packaging, and manufacturing engineering. That's how I read that as well. They want early adopters which is why they are making it so attractive. They'll take that hit in order to field test it and fix bugs. This is defiantly a 1.0 product. I like it and the promise of what it can do, but not enough to switch over to an entirely new platform. This is a very complex piece of equipment. I think it's good that it's being introduced, but being a early adopter is not for everyone, and it can actually backfire if it's not handled right.
