I have a Eshopps RS-100 sump system and it’s EXTREMELY loud. From what I have read about them, they are supposed to be very quiet. Could I possibly be doing something wrong or hooked something up wrong? I do notice I am needing to put approx a gallon of water in the tank every 2-3 days to keep the water above the “water line” so my pump stays underwater. HELP!

Can you tell where the primary noise is coming from? Is it the drain water splashing into the sump? Is the noise coming from the return pump chamber?

An ATO will help offset evaporation and keep the water level consistent in your sump

Where the return line connects to the sump there is likely a pipe that extends down into the sump. Is the bottom end of that pipe below the water level or is the water splashing at that point?

I will check when I get home, but it seems like the splashing is before that pipe. Because I notice sometimes the water fills around the top of the filter sock and just over flows.

It is possible that the sock is filling up and overflowing. Let us know if that is what is happening and we can offer alternatives. How often do you change out the sock?

It is only a month old, but I rinse it every week as I’m currently having an algae bloom. But the noise has been there from day 1

Saying the sump is "loud" is a bit vague. Can you be more specific? Is it vibration from the return pump? Is it gurgling from the drain? Is it a slurping sound from low water levels? If you would, please post a video so we can hear it for ourselves.

That you have to add water every 2-3 days is due to normal evaporation. If the noise is intermittent and the result of water levels going low, you should get an auto-top off system. This is important for water chemistry stability in your tank.

Ok. Give us some more feedback of what you are seeing once you get home and take another look. Check to see if the water is splashing inside the sock or if the water is overflowing from the sock and making noise.

I will post a video in just a bit. Thank you for your feedback!
