I just did a really stupid thing. I dosed vibrant when I was half asleep and, thus, did not read the instructions carefully enough. I just put 15ml of vibrant in a 15 gallon tank instead of 1.5 ml. Is this gonna kill everything? What do I do? I’m preparing a water change.

I agree with James, water change. At least vibrant is a mix of bac (95%) so, you should not have big problems, if you change your water

Immediate water change is key as well as is a pipette for adding any liquid which will allow you to regulate number of m/l introduced without error.

5 gal water change and watch. Have another one ready.
You may get an odd ball bloom of some organism(diatom or dino looking most commonly), but most have faded either in days or weeks. Possibly a cyano bloom. This is what I’ve seen here over the years.

You won’t have any algae though.

Not sure how I missed this.

Can you report back if it caused any problems? I've seen people do this before with no issues but I like to keep track of stuff like this.

Mdbannister did it a few years ago.
Got what appeared to be “Dino’s”
Faded fast. Pretty interesting.

Regular dose of Vibrant killed my torch and severely stressed my wall hammers. Took months for them to fully recover.

A 10x OD? I'd do a 50% water change ASAP, put in a fresh charge of GAC, set my skimmer to skim wet... and be ready to do another water change, if needed.

Will it hurt your tank to add too much no. Will your nutrients crash potentially so keep an eye on nitrate and phosphate.

I dont think it will do anything. I use twice as much twice as often and have had no issues.

Do a 50% water change just to be safe and I wouldn't worry about it. I dose with 10ml syringes I get at animal supply places like Tractor Supply for veterinary stuff. I bought some blunt needles for them on the net.

Nothing happened. I was preparing a water change when my granddaughter fell and hit her nose. I had to stop what I was doing to tend to her. Long story short, I didn’t do a water change. This tank is OVERRUN with GHA. It houses softies and a few fish. To date, no coral, fish, or invert has been effected. But.... it also did nothing to help the hair algae problem. Nothing.

The most important thing I learned.... Vibrant doesn’t work nearly as good as I once thought!o_O

I have used vibrant several times. It has worked well for me. I have killed GHA, bubble and bryopsis with it. I do not use it all the time. I use twice the recommended dose every 5 days and it usually take 3 doses and stuff is gone. I am being proactive though and killing small patches and not whole tank infestations. I also manually remove as much as possible.

I am gonna try to keep dosing on a regular basis to see if I can kick this. But, from now on, I’ll use the correct amount!

If you want help or advice on how to best use Vibrant, shoot me a PM.

I overdosed my 75G tank with 60ml of Vibrant instead of 6ml. Here is what I found after 72 hours:
-No change in Nitrate and Phosphate.
-Slight Calcium drop from 430ppm to 400ppm.
-Relatively large drop in Alkalinity from 10dkh to 7.5dkh which makes sense since Vibrant has Aspartic Acid and Vinegar. Nothing bad has happened to fish or corals yet although some corals are not happy. I am just adding NanoCodeA and NanoCodeB to bring up Calcium and Alkalinity.

No urgency. I would add carbon source such as chemipure elite to assure no toxins from Coral effect Should it happen and if coral starts to look questionable- go for a water change
