Vinyl tubing and barb fitting leak

From the pic you have plenty it you cut right at the fitting the 2 fittings will be butted up to each other I'll get a pic of mine to show you. You only need 3/4 of an in for a good seal and you have that there

Thats all I need? I usually push fittings in all the way

You should.push all the way but, in your case you would be fine with that I have one like that no issues. Beside to use the primer and glue correctly and you will have no issue. The flex tubing collapses like said and gets brittle and you have to change it. Also clear likes to.grow junk inside

Thanks..... It is flexible.....more flexible than what they sell at the hardware store....maybe thats why its not sealing properly....

Ok ? What you see in my pic this kind of set up works for me. Most of what you see is over 10 years old. Now I have cleaned it up since then and have dressed all wiring. I do have another idea. Cut that barb off and glue a fitting that you can screw a grey barb fitting into and reconnect your hose to it. Maybe the barb you are using now is for a different type of hose????

The barb worked fine with the nylon hose I was using before but I wanted to change it to something more flexible so that's where I'm at now......I tried to put silicone on the top, I'll see if it works in the morning. If this doesn't work, I will try silicone tubing, if not that, I will have to replace the barb or hard plumb it.....
